"I have been coming on and off to this pub for 30 years. I remember when it was the Dr Butler's Head, which was very confusing as 300 yards away on the same alley is the Old Dr Butler's Head. Since the name changed and refurbishment some years ago it is now an open plan modern pub. Big, open plan, clean and efficient but lacking in atmosphere. The food is solid sensible pub food, nothing fancy. This pub delivers exactly as you would expect but it just does not stand out."

The Telegraph has quite a large menu with plenty of vegetarian options. The food was good quality and not too expensive. Service was excellent. Quite a pleasant place to have lunch in the City. View menu

Went for the grand re opening and was slightly underwhelmed. New decor and a move round but no atmosphere and far too many staff walking round eager to take your order but happy then to charge service, of which there was no notification beforehand nor was it pointed out on the bill! Sneaky.

Visited this establishment for a quick drink and was disgusted that they charge £1.90 for a splash of coke. I had a double Johnny Walker Red and coke and was charged £9.70 the cost of the Whisky was £3.90 x 2 £7.80. Needless to say I won’t be visiting this place again. Disgraceful mark up in price.

Our first stay in Coventry and telegraph hotel, and Karen and Alice gave me and my brothers a warm feeling inside when we woke up to breakfast. They went above and beyond to make us have a fantastic breakfast experience. 11/10 please get these ladies a box of chocolates. Sofia was great at reception too View menu

My friend suggested going to this pub for lunch. Didn't even know it was there as down a side street. However, pleasantly surprised. Large space with a good amount of seating area. Staff were attentive and the food was very good. I understand that they are refurbishing in August I hope they do not loose the feeling of being in a pub as too many modern venues around.

I visited this public house for a business lunch and was impressed with the service, food and good selection of real ales. The atmosphere was lively but not loud, seating was very comfortable and not cramped, food was fresh and well priced for the area. Our server Sacha deserves a special mention for her knowledge of the ales as well as the recommendations for food. I will extend my thanks to all staff at this establishment and look forward to my next visit.
