Great dj and great atmosphere on a Friday night. Bar service is quick and the garden is great for cooling off after dancing

all credit goes to the chef Nick for going out of his way to serve the food to the tables when the rest of the team was under pressure. He was polite and friendly. 5 stars for him. 3 stars for the pub a whole

Our first time in Petersfield and we got lucky when we spotted The George and popped in for brunch. A warm welcome and great service from Suzie, and we enjoyed the most delicious full English breakfast the best we've had for a long time. Nice atmosphere, too. We'll definitely be back!

Visited The George for lunch on 26th November. Suzanne and her team of staff were so friendly and accommodating. Great food and we ended up (unintentionally) staying out late as it was such a great atmosphere. The live DJ in the evening was amazing too. Couldn’t rate The George, the staff, the food and the vibe highly enough!

Lovely pub … but so cold no comfort sat with coats on all time we where there even when eating ! The food was average presentation poor … quality of meat poor gammon tough as old boots… Service was hit and miss the lady behind bar friendly. Very cold pub we spent over £100 but felt food and service did not warrant a tip sorry overall not likely to return

Fantastic new set-up, menu and wine list. Absolutely loved the new menu. I had calamari followed by the spaghetti arrabiata with the Milanese on top (this is normally served with chips and salad. Everything was cooked perfectly. The wine list had a fantastic Sicilian Viognier.. all in all a great night with friends. Nice to have a new food option in Petersfield. :

Last Saturday night I arrived at The George for a catch up with three friends. Upon ordering drinks at the bar, talking to the barman i asked him if plastic beakers and four burly bouncers were needed in a quiet pub in Petersfield, he informed me that Petersfield was a dangerous place and things could kick off at any moment. Upon looking around the bar at the polite quiet youngsters having a drink I chuckled and said ‘really????’ This led him to get very defensive and agitated and repeatedly wanting to know if I lived in Petersfield !!!! Bless him I think he thinks it’s the Bronx..... Oh by the way I’ve lived in Petersfield for over 40 years :

Went for lunch with 3 friends. None of us had eaten here in a while. Not a good sign when the lagers came with huge heads. My friends gin glass was filthy. Staff looked ramshackle and a bit inept . They said the right words but couldn’t hatch it to their actually jobs.At 1pm they were down to their last lasagne, the pie had gone and so had breaded chicken .I ordered the deal 5 small plates for £16.99 ; 2 nachos, Cumberland sausage bites, battered mozzarella sticks and chicken wings, to share with one friend.The other 2 ordered scampi.
