"Having not resided in South Wales for some time, this was my first visit to a Brains pub following the Marstons acquisition. The Grove, once known as a flagship Brains hotel, piqued my curiosity. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The pub is currently undergoing 'essential maintenance' and is offering a 30% discount on all main meals every day. Despite this enticing offer, I was the sole customer in the nearly empty establishment. The draught beer was unavailable as the cellar was located too far from the bar. The general manager, a friendly and professional Eastern European, was doing his best to keep things running smoothly, but it was evident that the pub had lost its way. The presence of a static caravan in the car park and a pool table in the middle of the restaurant only added to the sense of disarray. Feeling hesitant about the food quality, I opted to dine at the nearby Premier Inn instead."

A very poor quality 'steak and ale pie '...hard, thick crust, small congealed content. Suggests the absence of a competent cook/chef.

The moto says it all: great food, great atmosphere and great music. Went there 3 nights and wasn't a disappointment once. Halloumi fries were particularly good

The beef was so over cooked it was tastless and I think everything else on the plate was frozen from the veg to the roast potatoes. Staff nice but food was not good at all.

The staff at the Grove did a fantastic job of catering for our large group at short notice. All we had to do was provide our food order 24 hours in advance. We were delighted to be served promptly and with a smile. Thank you! View menu

Called here on spec looking for a nice meal. Staff were really helpful and friendly and worked hard to accommodate us and my little dog! Food was excellent, we both had gammon and a sherry trifle cheesecake to follow, all very nicely served.

Nice place but are not geared up for peak dining times. They just stop taking orders for half an hour as the kitchen cant cope. In garden area huge loudspeaker blaring out Radio Pembrokeshire. Couldnt hear ourselves above the din. Not great.

The experience at this restaurant was absolutely wonderful. The staff went above and beyond, and Santa was fantastic with the kids. They showed so much care and attention to detail, making the whole experience truly magical. Thank you so much! View menu

The staff were welcoming, and the room was clean. Owing to a relatively new owner and staff, things did not always run smoothly or quickly. Breakfast was limited and not particularly good. A good try, I think, but a way to go. Good luck with it all.

We had a wonderful stay at this restaurant with our dog. The room was warm and comfortable, with a lovely rustic feel including a fire and stone wall. The bed was cozy with soft white bedding. The staff was really pleasant and welcoming. We had dinner here on two nights with two friends and three dogs, and the food was good with gluten free options. We would love to stay here again. There were great choices for breakfast at a reasonable price. Many thanks to the friendly staff.
