"We stopped here for lunch before starting the long drive home to Essex. We ordered 2 x beef stew with chips, and a smaller portion of chicken nuggets, chips and beans for my son. The food was perfect. Lovely, tasty, properly hot stew, and the best chips I’ve eaten in a long time. The landlord was funny and engaging and even managed to make my 11 year old giggle. When the landlord realised what way we’d be driving home, he updated us on traffic that was building and suggested a less congested way home. Will definitely be coming back when we’re back in the area!"

Having read good reviews of the food my wife and I went here for evening meal. However, my beer was off and the barman was very rude and point blank refused to change the drink. We didn't bother to stay and the beer remained undrunk. Not a good impression! View menu

We were camping at the Brecon Beacons Caravan Park and Camp Site nearby and chose this pub as being the nearest and having good reviews. Food was good and the staff were attentive, engaging and keen to provide a good service. We would definitely go here again when visiting the area.

A truly delightful experience at The Gwyn Arms. The inviting atmosphere combined with elegant warmth made for a wonderful visit. It is a 1 to 2 min drive from the showcave. Very friendly welcome, nice view. And speaking of the food – it was fantastic. A nice blend of flavors that left me impressed. Would highly recommend :

Visited this pub for the third time, I can’t enter south wales without coming here for the chicken curry and garlic bread! I would go as far as to say this is my favourite pub anywhere! The family that run it are so friendly and full of helpful local knowledge. I first found this pub whilst hiking the beacons way in May 2022, and will return again and again. I just wish I lived nearby! View menu

Been here a few times now, absolutely delicious proper home cooked meals. Chicken curry and a lasagne ordered, just perfect….and the garlic bread is to die for!! The landlord is very chatty and knowledgable about the area and the chef is so lovely and friendly. The food looks and tastes amazing and the place is spotlessly clean, black beams on the ceiling are gleaming! Definitely worth a visit, we will be returning again 100%! Thankyou!

We were staying at the Hoseasons Brecon Beacons park and this family owned and run pub was within easy walking distance. We had lunch there twice and on both occasions we received a very warm welcome and the family were chatty and sociable. The beer was very well kept (Hobgoblin) and the food was good quality, well cooked pub food. The desserts (and between us we had 4 out of the 5 on offer) were exceptional. We would definitely return when holidaying in the area again.
