"It was a 'spur of the moment ' request for a table on a Saturday night. I didn 't expect to get one but we were lucky. We 've been to the pub a couple of times before for a drink; this was out first time for food. It 's a lovely location and it was a warm sunny evening, so we sat outside enjoying the views before going inside to eat. We had baked fig along with a selection of breads for starter which was really good followed by a chicken pasta dish and hake; both dishes were superb. For desert I had warm peach cake with ice cream, which was also very good. Not the hosts fault, but the experience was marred a bit by a noisy group in the same room. Otherwise a really enjoyable night. Service was excellent and the cost was very reasonable. We 'll be coming again."

Went here for a meal whilst on holiday. The location is stunning and the building is amazing. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was exceptional. The pub was a nice mixture of locals and visitors. Very informal and great value for money.

Excellent service from start to finish. Our two dogs were made to feel very welcome. Sunday lunch was excellent very generous sides of steamed veg, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese. One of our party was gluten free (told the Inn in advance) and he was well taken care of. View menu

Excellent location and very friendly staff. They were very busy, which I always take as a good sign. Food was well presented and hot, even though we had followed a group of 20 other customers through the door Good choice of ales and cider, together with a reasonable wine list. Young guy behind the bar was super helpful, apologies I didn’t get his name. Highly recommended. I live nearby in Kington and will be back.

We were staying nearby and booked early tea on Saturday. Quiet when we arrived, starters came quickly, smoked trout pate was ok, my wife liked her figs. V quick also for mains, steak was ok, a bit gristly in places but cooked as ordered. Chicken was declared good. Irish coffee was lukewarm and we waited an age for my wife’s pud but they were charming and eager to please so it’s a 4. The wine was good value. They missed a drink off the bill but we owned up as they deserved it.

Supposedly the food is still just as good but as I've not tried it I can't comment, they have however recently lost their head chef who was by all accounts very good. Since the once thriving pub has recently changed hands it seems, if you are local you aren't welcome anymore, last orders seem to be 21.30hrs if not sooner, They seem to be only interested in passing trade and room bookings. There are a few local pubs who warmly welcome local trade and aren't in a rush to close the doors. Avoid if local View menu

Today we had a truly exceptional Sunday lunch at the Harp Inn. The main course was cooked to perfection and thoroughly enjoyable. We had delicious roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, leeks au gratin, peas, mange tout, carrots and cabbage, served with good gravy. We had the lightest sticky toffee pudding ever with clotted cream ice cream. The service was welcoming. The views from the pub to the Shropshire hills are breathtaking. All in all a perfect Sunday lunch! We cannot recommend the Harp inn, Old Radnor, highly enough.

Our party was on holiday locally and we were recommended to try the pub out as it was only a short walk away as it was a nice place for food and to enjoy the views. To our surprise the pub was closed! I could understand if this was midweek however this was 1pm on a Saturday!Despite the website stating that they were open 12-3. We weren’t the only ones as another family also turned up claiming they had a booking and they were also turned away! This left us very disappointed and didn’t return during our stay as it was pot luck to whether it would be open.
