"On arriving in this lovely pub today, I was greeted by a lady called Ally. We decided to have lunch there and as we ordered a drink, we were handed menus. I ordered the chicken burger whilst my wife ordered the double stack hamburger. My wife being on a diet at the moment asked for an unusual request of no bun fries and extra salad and got that at no extra cost. when the food arrived it was very tasteful also well presented and the chef Jamie put his own twist on a lovely home-made coleslaw and also a very nice chicken burger. Something so simple he made his own and I must say it was delicious. Speaking with Ally and Jamie I found their customer service characteristics and personality wonderful and Jamie was very thankful of my compliment to his food. I really hope to visit this pub more often and perhaps maybe have dinner there. If you visit the wonderful town of Billingshurst, then this pub is a must."

Stayed at the Kings Head for one night on a business trip. Room was very good and bed was comfy. Car park cheap around the back of the hotel. Would stay again if I'm in the area.

Great place to sleep in the middle of the village. We received a very hospitable welcome and we were able to park the motorcycles in the back of the courtyard. Everything seems to have just been renovated and looks neat!

This is a pub with a good vibe and good food and drink too. Plenty of room. If live music appeals then there's something every weekend, if not your thing then pub's large enough to enable conversation away from the music. TV screens if you're into sport. Free carpark out back in evening. Recommend it. View menu

Stayed here overnight as we were attending a family wedding nearby. Booked 3 rooms for ourselves family. All rooms were lovely, everything you could need for an overnight stay including tea/coffee making facilities, large tv, bottled water, hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel etc. Rooms were spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with a huge comfortable double bed. The bar was nice, good selection of draught beers and lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend, hope to visit again one day.

This is the second time we have stayed here. So Paul the head of house is friendly and helpful and very welcoming, Great bloke. Good clean tasteful rooms do a credit to the pub. Now the food. I rarely have steak nowadays as its usually disappointing. BUT l had one of the best steaks I've ever had . It was obviously a high quality meat cooked to perfection by Noodles the chief. Worth his weight in gold l think. Served by Emi who was a treasure seeing that everything was perfect . Excellent selection of well kept beers ,especially the Hogsback TEA . Thanks for another great stay. Paul and Sue .

"My mother and I had been following the Masterchef Pro comp ' last year and were really keen to sample some of the winner, Tom Hamblet 's, food. We travelled a 4 hour round trip for the experience. We don 't eat at fine dining restaurants often but we are foodies. Firstly, the setting of the restaurant is very lavish and comfortable with warm low lighting. That said, the dinner experience was a little too dark for my mother so that 's something to think about if you struggle with eyesight and low lighting. The service was friendly, attentive and speedy/efficient. The food: I 'll start with the dessert because that was a real pleasure for us. We both loved the flavours of Tom 's end of series winning dessert so the meal ended on a high (we ordered the Olive Oil sponge with lemon curd). I recommend not ruining your palette with the overly sweet petit four that are placed in front of you following dessert unfortunately ours were more sugar flavoured than any other identifiable flavour. Our starters and mains were very VERY underwhelming. They arrived looking beautiful, neat and tidy but failed to deliver on taste. I had wanted the celeriac themed starter but the waiting staff told me the vegan/veggie starters and mains were created by their head chef and not Tom. That was disappointing as his 3 month residency was the reason we 'd visited the restaurant. We ended up both having the lobster starters after the waiting staff recommended it highly as either a starter or an additional dish to share. The claw meat was minimal and tough and the foam mousse took centre stage on the plate. Whilst the plate had lots of textures to it, we felt it was unbalanced and generally with no 'wow ' to it. We enjoyed the coffee and rye bread with butter and pollen/fennel that came prior to this thought. I ordered the Guinea Fowl as a main after the waiter described it as a gamey, dark and tender meat. I feel like a better description to someone that hasn 't had guinea fowl before would be 'it 's like a chicken breast with a different flavour '. This is what arrived in front of me and I actually found it was quite dry and not dark at all! I would never have ordered anything that resembled chicken breast anyway so I felt ill informed about my choice. I also thought the girolles were overwhelmingly tart. I didn 't enjoy my main. Mum 's Hogget was nice but average for her too. Last comment I 've never in my life paid £6.50 for less than 1.5ltrs mineral water beware! I don 't care how much money you have it 's water!!!"

"Service: 11/10 Starter: Calamari Duck Parfait - 10/10 Main Course 1: 50-Day Aged Fillet Mignon with Bordelaise Sauce (cooked *Blue*) - 100/10 Main Course 2: Fish and Chips - 9/10 Dessert: Hot Brownie - Over 9000! I want to extend my thanks to the front-of-house team for their warm welcome. Although we arrived a bit late, they were incredibly accommodating. Special thanks to Irvana (I hope I spelled that correctly) for providing excellent service! My steak experience took me on a nostalgic journey—like Anton Ego savoring his ratatouille in Gusto’s restaurant. It reminded me of a family meal in Holland during my childhood, where I had my first real steak. This may have even surpassed that memory! I was initially hesitant about dining at Miller and Carter since it's a chain restaurant, but if you're feeling the same way, let me assure you: don't be. While it may not be the cheapest option, it definitely deserves a smart-casual dress code that anyone who understands proper dining etiquette should respect. Curious, I browsed through other reviews, and I found it hard to believe anyone could leave a 1-star review without sounding like a “Karen.” It’s important to take reviews with a grain of salt—this is truly a fantastic restaurant! In summary, if you're a fan of steak, this place will take great care of you and provide excellent recommendations for how to enjoy your meal just the way you like it. Perfect!"
