Impromptu visit for an evening meal. Lovely evening for a sit by the river followed by gorgeous food and tasty beer. Well worth a visit. A great example of a well run community pub. View menu

8 of us arrived on a very busy hot day. The staff were down a few due to COVID and the pub was busy, but they could not have been friendlier or more efficient. The menu is available online to look at before you go....

Hired a boat from Beccles and arrived at the free mooring at the bottom of the pub garden. This is a community pub and all the staff are trying hard to make it work. The service was very good, given the number of customers who...

Lovely setting right on the river. Lots of kayak and paddle boarders stopping for lunch. Lots of seating outside and inside. Only slight downside was the length of queue for the bar. Great to see how this pub was saved by the community. View menu

Moored here for the night as we thought we would support a community pub. Little surprised to find it is run off a generator but it worked fine but was a little dark inside. Was a little disappointed that the menu was basically burgers of...

Boated here from Beccles...good mooring and were pleased we arrived early as it was a warn day and the garden and mooring area got busy over fhe lunchtime period. They'd had some work done inside and the pub was nicely done out and very spacious...

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
