"Some friends and I went here for afternoon food and drinks. We ordered a couple of crepes and some soup and some drinks and a water. As our food and drinks arrived (other than the water that arrived once we had all finished eating and...drinking..! my partner tried her soup and didn’t like it as it tasted bitter as if perhaps some of it had burnt at the bottom of the pan..? Both of the crepes were not hot, luke warm at best, but we said nothing. My partner did however send the soup back as she found it inedible. The waiter took the soup back and said no problem and could he get her something else instead. She decided she didn’t want anything else. Once we had finished and went to pay the soup was still on the bill..! I said we had sent it back as it was not acceptable. Then the owner came out and said that she was still going to charge us for it. To be honest I was in absolute shock. I have been eating out for over years and this is the first time I have ever been charged for food that was not eaten and sent back as it was not edible. The owner became very rude and agitated and I actually found her quite aggressive about the situation. It’s been a very very long time since I have been out for any kind of food or drink and left feeling that bad. I feel this was absolutely inexcusable customer service. I have left having to pay for some uneaten soup but had it been taken off the bill as it should have been maybe she would have not lost repeat customers. Very sorry but this is a business model that I can recommend to nobody. Very sorry that someone not liking your soup was so damaging to your ego but surely that’s part of the service industry you are in. Far more enjoyable food and establishments out there."

Popped in for a coffee and asked if they did bacon rolls. Did they ever!! Probably the best I've ever had! Lovely grilled bacon in a warmed herby focaccia roll excellent! And the coffee was delicious too.

that is a wonderful place to lunch. I had an absolutely delicious focaccia filled with rocket, grilled goat cheese, local black pudding. afterwards followed the most wonderful homemade carrot cake, all washed with large coffee. a must visit. View menu

we were looking for a Wee place for a lunch along the coast of anstruther to pittenweem. what a nice caffe. we had the speckrolls on foccaccia and sky-smilk shakes that were delicious. it was dog friendly, so out Boy...Jake enjoyed his visit too. there was a young man who worked there, who was sweet and very attentive. we ordered a take away, he apologized several times for the waiting period (although I was quite happy to look at all homemade chocolate.) would recommend!

Wow the Chai Tea and Chai Latte are excellent. Along with a little nibble of the wonderful chocolate made on the premises. We decided not to sit in as anxious to get on to the coastal path to walk, though would go back to eat as the food menu seemed good. We took our take away drinks and little chocolate rabbits to eat and drink en route to Anstruther. Absolutely lovely with the wonderful chocolate and the tastiest Chai drinks with all the spices coming through was decadent, along with the beautiful views along the Fife coast. View menu

Very friendly staff whom we dealt with to get the key for the nearby cave. We returned for lunch because we liked the welcome so much, and sat in the little courtyard. The hot chocolates were fantastic, very rich and just the right amount. The warm ginger cake was really good; nice spice and with a pot of cream. The bacon/black pudding bun was excellent, and really good value since it was so big that it rendered the eater unable to eat again for the rest of the day! We are just visiting the area, but will be calling in for breakfast on our way home.

Visited on Sunday October. Quirky place, with very little atmosphere with odd background music. Decided to give it a try after reading the reviews on here. Wish we’d not bothered. Ordered the goats cheese on focaccia bread /salad and my husband had the bean.. chorizo soup. I expected a big lump of focaccia bread with rosemary olives what I got was a small round of apparently focaccia bread no larger than the round of goat cheese which was barely warm. It was OK at best. My husband’s soup was on the cool side of warm and again came with tiny pieces of focaccia toast. The tea was lovely, Roobois leaf tea and the lemon ginger. Overall, underwhelmed and wishes we’d gone elsewhere
