"Having booked accommodation direct with them I requested an evening meal and breakfast as it would save going out to find somewhere after a very long days work. On arrival at 1900hrs, which was the time I had agreed, I was informed that the chef had gone off for the evening and that there maybe a very limited menu. I ended up with ham, egg and overly salted chips which were inedible and that was it. No choice of desert as the manager had gone out to walk her dog and the only person left was the bar person. The room was clean but I was surprised that there were no toiletries for the shower, the room door did not fit properly and that you could look between the door frame and the door. Also the sound proofing between the rooms was not far off non existent as was proved by my neighbours turning on their television late in the evening. Thankfully, I had put in a 19 hour day and was too tired to care. Breakfast was greeted by the chef wearing a Puffa jacket, most probably the same one he had on to come to work, and I ordered Full English with orange juice and coffee. The orange juice still hasn’t arrived and it is now two days since I left there. The bake beans had clearly been reheated but on the plus side the sausages and bacon were excellent. It’s was a good job that I was in a hurry as my nights accommodation was quoted at £65-00 plus extras evening meal, breakfast and 1 Pint of beer), however on rechecking the receipts it has been charged at £75-00. On the plus side the manager was very pleasant and Benny the dog very friendly. Would I stay again? Definitely Not…"

Sunday lunch was good, lovely and homemade. We had roast chicken and gammon with a cherry pie for pudding. Great value

Fantastic atmosphere and great tasting food . Plenty of space to eat and socially distance. I recommend the plough burger!

This pace is cosy, friendly and it felt like home. The couple hosting us were just lovely… and their little baby was the icing on the cake! Recommended!!

Possibly, in fact defiantly, the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The place was shut when we arrived at tea time. The food was inedible. and the bathroom a disgrace.

A lovely meal, really nice dining room and a friendly main bar in a separate room too. Very comfortable all round, good staff and food. The puppy was very cute too! Would highly recommend!

We waited 2 hrs for our meal . When it arrived it was cold and covered in gravy . We have been told it’s being taken over in December, thank god . I had a nut roast that arrived with soggy cabbage .

Lovely traditional Sunday roast at The Plough today. Nicest Carvery we’ve had in a long time. No time restriction either, available all day so we had time for a sunny walk first. Cosy atmosphere and cosy company .

How refreshing to find a real village pub with decent rooms, a good breakfast and pleasant staff. No pretentious frills or attempts to gentrify. Good hones food and service where the locals drink and can afford to eat. My first stay will hopefully not be my last
