"We were assigned a room above the pub and dining room. It was very loud before and after closing. When booking a room,I strongly advise that you avoid room #1. The spiral stairs to this room are very challenging and potentially dangerous.. We would not have booked the room if we were told about its deficiencies. The pub and restaurant were very good. "Amazing food, had the Cote de Bouef and what a steak that was!! cooked to perfection, lovely sides could probably feed more than two with the generous helping of chips and side salad. The team working were very attentive and always looking to see how they can help, very proactive but not intrusive. Highly recommended. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"I stayed in one of the rooms in the courtyard for £90pn. My room was in a poor condition, had visible damp and was really dirty. Although the beds were made the room was not fit for use in its current state. There was visible damp and decay in the bathroom, a lot of dead bugs and thick dust on every surface and the room was full of dead and living spiders. It just hadn’t been cleaned adequately in a very long time. The furniture and pillows were heavily used, visibly stained and quite frankly in need of replacing. The walls were lined with squashed dead bugs and the old television also did not work at all. The whole room was in a general state of disrepair and definitely not worth the money. I did ask to speak to a manager but when approached the desk staff were completely disinterested and failed to follow up my request to make contact to discuss the situation further. Rooms: 1"

"Hi, we had a meal at the five alls at the end of July, table of 4 for my wife and I and two old friends who we met up with, my wife and I ordered the sea bass with potatoes and roasted vegetables, so it said on the menu! but when it came there was no sign of any roasted vegetables just what can only be described as pan fried overcooked oily onions something like you would find in a burger not a hint of any roasted vegetables! fish was nice though potatoes ok, not wanting to spoil the evening as we were with friends we hadn't seen for a while we said nothing on check back but I did mention it to the waitress who cleared our plates who just said sorry about that! for a dish that cost £26 I think it was pretty poor really and unacceptable I did email the manager about this but he hasn't bothered to reply, that was nearly 3 weeks ago now, if he can't even be bothered tells me what I'm saying is correct and if he's not bothered then why would the rest of the staff! "We had a pleasant meal with no complaints about the food, which was very tasty. The location is nice, but our experience was spoiled by the noisy drinking crowd outside. It was hard to enjoy our meal with the loud, aggressive laughter and swearing coming from nearby tables. While we could have notified the staff, we didn't feel it was our responsibility to manage their customers. The language being used was easily overheard, and we didn't want to cause a scene. It seems that perhaps this is the type of clientele the restaurant is aiming for now, despite there being families dining there and the higher prices suggesting a more upscale establishment. We quickly finished our meal, skipped dessert, and left. It might have just been bad luck, but if you visit, consider dining indoors instead."
