"Having stopped off a few months ago to have a drink we were impressed. At this time it was just under new management and no food available due to refurbishment of the kitchen. We were keen to return try it out. We did that today and we were not disappointed. A warm welcome awaited. The menu was excellent. It included substantial offerings but also a good selection of light food. Good pub grub from hot meals to sandwiches/baguettes and a fantastic Ploughman's. Good value and well presented. The pub is lovely, old fashioned, full of character and charm. The beer garden, where we sat due to the fantastic weather, is delightful. We will definitely be returning soon."

Really nice atmosphere and friendly attentive service. The food was very good including the Sunday roast. They offered beef, pork or lamb for the roast. Prices were average but portions were large. View menu

Its the first time I have visited the Punchbowl since it reopened. There was 13 of us for lunch. Most of us had a Sunday roast and it was nicely presented, well portioned and very tasty. For dessert (which I really didn't need) I had apple and rhubarb crumble which was delicioust. We will definitely return.

Very tasty lunch, scampi, chips and salad, nicely presented. Limited menu (at present), but that is good in many ways. Adequate parking at rear of pub, if cricket is being played opposite...best to park at the rear! Inside is all fresh and comfortably furnished. Well worth a visit, in winter, or summer, outside in the front garden. View menu

This pub was closed suddenly months ago and was sold by the owners Time Well Spent group recently. Popped in on the way home this afternoon and wow what a difference the new owners have made. The place is spotless and the bar staff are friendly and accommodating. There was no food available as their kitchen was being refurbished. We will be back once they start selling food.

We ate at the Punchbowl on spec last night and as we were close to the kitchen closing we did not have much time to look over the menu so I decided to just chose a dish I don't normally cook myself. I have to say the meat fell off the bone, the mash was lovely and the vegetable were just perfect with that bit of bite you expect at the beginning of the sittings early in the day and not at closing time. Would certainly recommend this for lovely food and a lovely old world style ambiance in the pub with burning log fires.
