"Disappointing. Ignored when we first walked in as two staff members by reception intent on sorting admin rather than attend to paying customers. Decor in need of redecoration. Wall lights with bulbs not working. Restaurant only appeared to be 25% full on a Saturday night, but still seated next to table of 8 , family gathering with small children. Food fairly average; eg deep fried Brie just one lump of Brie with poor garnish. On receiving the bill, waiter pushing too hard for a tip: writes on invoice that not included, tells me and then reminds me as he hands me the card reader. Unsurprisingly, not rushing to return..."

We enjoyed our time in the Ramblers Rest. Nice old building. The food was good, but the Tempura mushrooms were very oily. Service was friendly.

We had a great time at the Ramblers Rest. The restaurant is housed in a charming old building. The food was reasonably priced, although the tempura mushrooms were a bit too greasy for our liking. The service was friendly and attentive.

The food wasn't great to be honest. The pate came with very little crostini and salsa and the salad was okay, but the cucumber strips made it a little slender and the bacon was not cooked by. So no, I wouldn't recommend being honest with what a shame is because it's a tasty pub with great staff and a beautiful environment. View menu

Overall, I was not impressed with the food at this restaurant. The pate dish was lacking crostini and salsa, and the salad was just okay, with slimy strips of cucumber and undercooked bacon. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place, despite the fact that it is a charming pub with excellent service and a beautiful atmosphere.

The food was okay. Nothing to write home about. We all had Sunday roasts at around 5 PM and some of the potatoes and vegetables were very dry and bland. The service was absolutely awful. It took 35mins to get asked what we would like for desert and then another 30mins to get served the desert. A huge disappointment to what once was a nice pub
