best pub food for miles, restaurant standard. beautiful choice of beer etc., and very friendly staff that adds a welcoming atmosphere. also, large parking lot back and no 7 bus directly outside.

Stopped off whilst passing through, although I had a shandy a decent range of draught beer on. Food was pretty good pub grub, and really good value. Sat out in the sun, a good few folk here too.

Everything about this wonderful pub is without fault. Can't comment anymore, except to say the wonderful pictures and photos on the walls are delightful to see and reflect the local and social history

Had a splendid lunch. Used to drink there regularly a few years ago. Very friendly and welcoming. Over the years the pub has extended and modernised significantly into a splendid surroundings and ambience.

Had dinner in the Rat trap today with my mum for her birthday. The food was fantastic and the service from all staff was amazing, all very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Service was great as usual but I was surprised to see that the main meal lasagne was the same size as the light bite one. I’ve never seen such a small portion of lasagne. The only difference was a slice of toast, which was presumably the garlic bread but didn’t taste of garlic. I would have rather gone without than pay an extra £3. Very disappointing. Food: 1

A fairly nice run-of-the-mill Pub, just off the A419 in Swindon. The cliental during our visit was more elderly than our group, but we were made to feel very welcome nonetheless. The food was pretty decent the service wasn't lacking either. Portion sizes were so large that we struggled to finish our plates. Definitely recommended for a pitstop on a journey certainly a step up from the motorway services.
