"I attended here with friends and family for a day out, when we first walked in there was a dog leash sitting on the table which we kindly handed to the manager which she responded to "that’s because this is a staff table which our staff likes to sit here” we then asked if it was a problem and if we could sit there which we were ignored, after sitting down as there was a large group of us I sat at a small table beside them with my son as there was not enough room which I got told to move and squeeze in beside everyone she then removed the table. After we ordered the food for everyone except my son due to his allergies he has his own sandwich I was told he was not aloud to eat it and must go outside and eat it who is 3 Years old I decided to leave with him. My friends stayed for their food which took over an hour to come out for the Manger to not bring out my cousins food which she said she forgot to put her order through. Absolutely shocking customer service they don’t know how to treat or speak to customers. while friends were waiting on food there was other people complaining too."

Me and my husband came down to Millport for a couple of days. Both nights we ate in the pier hotel. Food was absolutely beautiful. Place was very clean, brilliant selection of drinks. The best thing was the staff ! All staff were so friendly and very helpful, especially the owners . We’ll definitely be back.

We have been coming to Millport for many years and during that time 'The George ' has gone through some torrid times, however, no more. Craig and his family have transformed it into a thriving well run hotel, restaurant, music venue and bar. We went for a family lunch on very busy Wednesday lunchtime. The service and food were excellent from start to finish. Congratulations to you all.

He a great lunch in here after walking round Cumbrae. I think it’s recently been taken over, as the service we had was 10/10, nothing like reviews for last year. Really friendly couple running the place, table service, food was great too. Really couldn’t fault, £30 for lunch which included a glass of wine and a pint. Perfect spot for lunch by the fire with friendly service: would recommend

Had lunch here while visiting Millport on the Waverly! It was nice. Hand battered fresh fish, we asked for coleslaw instead of peas which wasn't a bother and we weren't charged any extra. My daughter had the homemade soup, which they done as a smaller portion and thoroughly enjoyed. We all had reasonably priced soft drinks and the service was fantastic. Nice window seat looking out to the sea, toilet and surroundings were very clean. Would recommend!

We called in for an evening meal as we had been told the hotel was dog friendly. It certainly was, as is most of Millport! It was the main chefs night off so the menu was more limited. I had the Cajun chicken burger and hubby had fish and chips. Mine came with chips and coleslaw, his with garden peas. Both were excellent, cooked to perfection. The main chef has a lot to live up to!. The Guinness was also excellent. The new owners were so friendly and welcoming, (they’d only been there a month), and I get the impression that this pub will be going from strength to strength!

"Magic sea. we went about 6 months ago after fins had threatened for years. that was worth waiting for us to arrive a little early before they had changed the prices on the boards, that was lucky because they had the decision to offer us the meal times at the price at the arrival, result. to every way back to the foods that the woman had the scalopps and black pudding and I had the langoustines. I was a little confused by the cutlery laid in front of me, pliers and a funny fork, but it was good when I asked the waitress what I should do with it and she showed me pretty happy. the scallops were amazing and it was that really beautiful black pudding so a great start for them. what had done me well, I had never eaten longoustine before, but I had to go right in and it was a great experience and the taste was just beautiful. large mmmm in our bauch. the most important courses were turbot for me and the missus chose the sea bass. the food was beautifully presented and it was smaller that I thought it was, but I had never eaten somewhere in that posh before. Anyway, both can have beautiful vegien and we both came into them and we were not dissappointed it was perfectly cooked. the turbot was the softest spruce I've ever had and the taste was amazing. the sea bass came with I think noodles and she loved it. everything was beautiful and relaxed and none of the unem emphasized that you sometimes find when you can be a little bit on yourself in the leading restaurants, but here it was not at all. about all this was a nice place to eat, a wee bit expensive but they get great service and beautiful environment. dylan"
