"updated review with a chat with glen, we went back to give the spinners a second attempt. I have to say it was good. the food was super, fiona’s stroganoff was excellent my lammage still excellent and tasty and the cheesecake is for to die. I have changed my previous 3 stars to a deserved 5 star rating we are regularly re- each in our group had a great meal and the servers were excellent and really helped to make the night good, I can only say that our previous experience was on a varying rare ****. please ignore my previous commentary, such as talking to friends who regularly go, this did not reflect their experience at all. previous reviews brlliant local family run pub and cozy atmosphere with good beer. my lamb was delicious, but my wife stroganoff with rice seemed very overpriced at £17 for a pot bark with rice. we both decided for the apfel and rhabarb crumb and custard, this was very bad, served in a small pot, the fruit was very good, but the crumb topping was uncooked, leaving a terrifying crumb after. Even the excellent but tiny part of the custards masked not the terrible crumb topping. this was our first visit for a meal and after we heard really good things about spinners we have a little disappointed and overall not the feeling that we have worth for our £51. the surly waitress did not add to the atmosphere."

Anywhere that's full on a Tuesday evening must be good! And it was. Amazing food staff. Piping hot food served with a smile by friendly staff. Can't wait for an excuse to go back after enjoying the dinning so much.

Malcolm I thoroughly enjoyed our meal last night, as did everyone in our party. Excellent food well presented tasty; quick, efficient service from both the waitresses. Good choice of tap beers. Brilliant local, family run pub.

Our third visit to Glen's place and once again the food was excellent. Jeff had the mussels followed by gammon and I had the garlic mushrooms and the catch of the day. Really superb; staff are friendly, efficient and attentive.

just returned from another unrealistic eating it is just a really nice place to go where the whole staff is not enough for u the eating is mouth water and again everything I can say is thank you they have a competition and have won here a free food, but seriously we would have paid for what we have just eaten and then to throw the drinks, only recommend to show how much customer service u will go from this place

an award-winning breakfast. I won the competition on facebook for a free full English breakfast for two. we arrived this morning and were welcomed by pleasant and attentive employees. the breakfast came and it looked fantastic and tasted great. everything on the plate was fresh and really good. we have eaten here, but we never had an breakfast, but we will certainly return for another. probably the best breakfast we had and on the plus side his in front of our doorstep.

we had a great Sunday dinner here. a late birthday meal. that was brilliant. I had cheese and tweeper cake, nabeby had lammschaft and sohn had escaped. all were beautiful, we had a few desserts and coffee and a few drinks. the price is really good for the quality of the meal, service atmosphere. I would definitely recommend to book as it was very busy. the employees were all knowledgeable and attentive. will return regularly. sohn still goes over the sauce with the duck and his went over a month since wd.

Fantastic food, amazing service and superb attention to detail. We won the Valentines competition, my hubby had already booked a table for the same evening as a surprise ha ha!! Lucky Us!! The restaurant is very busy but each customer is given the highest customer service with great attention to detail. Food is top quality and my fillet steak cooked to perfection (I’m very fussy with steak) the cheesecake amazing. My daughters made to feel extremely welcome on what normally would be a couples romantic evening. Thanks to Glen and all the staff for a wonderful evening.

"Have never eaten here, but only ever heard positive feed back. Cousins birthday, I do not live in the area so rang to order some bottles of bubbles for the table. Only writing this as experience was very upsetting and I am still shocked. I spoke with a lady, explained cousin having birthday dinner (I did get name wrong that table was ordered under) so wanted to make sure was correct table. She said I was loud and shouting. I have a loud voice (nodules on voice box). But its also naturally loud as well. I do not raise my voice, it is not my style also my voice loud enough. It doesnt need raising. We finally worked out correct table, I then thought she had gone to get payment machine. But she just hung up. So I called back, another waitress answered. I explained previous call and again asked if I could pay over phone for bottles of bubbles. I was asked to wait a moment whilst she fetched the machine. Whilst I waited I had to listen to what herself and the first waitress were saying about me. Won 't lie, it was very upsetting and I 'm quite a tough cookie. Completely unnecessary and unprofessional as well as hurtful. When she came back on phone I politely told her I heard all their conversation, she went quiet and apologised then asked if still wanted the bubbles. I politely replied 'I don 't think so '. Not sure what to take away from this experience. At least cover phone or put on hold if your going to talk badly about someone who wishes to spend money whom you have never met............"

"this restaurant is getting better when we visit, but tonight it was absolutely excellent. from the moment when one of our party appeared early (first in the restaurant and was wonderfully respected for the very friendly farewell, this was a wonderful evening. the staff was extremely nice and efficient and made the visit really. there were free olives, brot and cheeses directly and we were made to feel welcome from the beginning. [sides: why not give restaurants to customers small free tasty stores? they cost pennies and customers love them. they are also a point of discussion. that was great. for the appetizers, the chorizo, the cloves in feta cheese and tomaten (I know, but it works and the calamari were all exceptionally good. the Greek kleftiko lamb was absolutely out of this world. boiled for three hours and served with a delicious vegetable pot like a ratatouille, it was really the outstanding dish. another member of our party had the steak in pfeffergrass sauce and welcomed the great part and the rich sauce. the brandy and tia maria coffee have a completely new meaning for the set generous measures. The only less than impressive element was the cheesecake of the day, which seemed to be an external source and more pedestrian. all dishes were beautifully presented and served piping hot. there is no doubt that eating now matches the service in bistecca. this was a Wednesday evening at 18 o'clock and in the following hour the restaurant was occupied but not crowded. the word has come out clearly. it would be too early to say it is on a par with the magnificent retreat restaurant a few hundred meters on the road, but it is certainly in this direction. bistecca can not compete with retreat on hire or ambience (who can? but it is certainly now competing with them on the quality of food on the teller and at the end it is important."
