"We were so lucky to happen on this restaurant with rooms for our anniversary treat. Everything was just as fine as the website lead us to think. You'll see detail of the menu and rooms there. The food was delicious, with fine ingredients, carefully and exactly cooked. No dried up fish or leathery lamb here! There wasn't a dud from beginning to end. The generous appetisers with home made crusty sourdough, home made butter, whipped pork dripping sprinkled with crackling crumble, cauliflower cheese croquettes and very fine olives set the mood for an extremely enjoyable dinner. The service was pleasant. efficient and kind. We were served a special chocolate truffle garnished with gold leaf on a plate wishing us a Happy Anniversary in beautiful chocolate script The restaurant is a very comfortable and attractive space and was cosy on a cold wet evening. We stayed in the Rock'n'Roll room. It is fun and very comfortable, cleverly furnished and accessorised, thoroughly clean and well maintained, thoughtfully warmed up with underfloor heating before we arrived, with ample excellent tea, coffee, fresh milk and home made snacks to revive us after our journey. The little private courtyard with a hot tub and a table and chairs for breakfast would have been perfect too except for the really bad weather! Thank you to The West House for such a perfect dinner and stay."

This place is a hidden gem. My husband and I went for the first time and had an incredible dining experience. The wine list was the best we've ever seen. The chef and staff clearly have a passion for what they do, and it shows in the high quality of the food they serve. We will definitely be coming back.

I visited this restaurant today for a Mother's Day gift of a quick lunch. Every minute of it was wonderful, from the small Parmesan churros appetizers to the octopus starter with chorizo, confit duck with sweetcorn, venison loin, and apple dessert. The service was friendly and attentive. I couldn't find any faults. We will definitely be coming back.

Dinner was a five course menu with paired wines. Food was extremely detailed but average in taste, with the exception the of the sea bass. Wines were excellent, complimented the course well except the final dessert course. My main issue with the restaurant was the billing. Confusing at best, vailed deliberately at worst. Including a large service charge. There’s better options around.

We enjoyed Sunday lunch at the West House as part of my wife's birthday celebration. The atmosphere was lovely, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was really delicious. I was a bit hesitant about not being able to choose from a menu, but I didn't need to worry at all. Every dish was simply amazing. If you want a special dining experience, I highly recommend visiting the West House.

Set menu and the highest quality of food one could wish for. Started with the shortest of spicy crumb biscuits, fresh home made rustic bread and olives. Delicately cooked scallops in a gentle curry sauce; squash cooked imaginatively, John Dory cooked with a sense of respect for the food and the star of the show was the lamb. For pud an unusual date loaf coated in sticky toffee. All beautifully presented. Exceptional service. Nice ambience which is probably even warmer in the evening with all the fairy lights. What a treat for a Thursday lunch time. We shall be back.

Living several hours away we had not visited The West House for quite a few years. What a delight to go back. The cooking was as sublime as ever. We often go to Michelin and other critically acclaimed restaurants in London. None of them come anywhere near the standard of cooking in this restaurant. The subtle combination of flavours, the quality of the ingredients and the cooking is second to none. Graham Garrett deserves all the plaudits he gets for continuing to deliver the top gastronomic experience his customers are lucky enough to experience. The restaurant itself is small but cosy and tastefully decorated. The staff are knowledgeable efficient and friendly. Thank you!
