"beautiful traditional pub with good choice of ales. not a large number of dressed for vegan, so lost a star, but a decent choice of a vegan burger, a baked kartoffel a sandwich, an salat and even a torte with vegan gravy. couple of other options for lacto vegetarier like halloumi and chips. the prices are very reasonable. Apparently not so big a choice as a vegan caffe, but open at night. ideal if they are a vegan or vegetarian eating with omnivore friends or family, or if they want a good ale in a traditional pub instead of going into a restaurant."

Lovely little pub, food is great, not over priced for Stratford unlike most places worth every penny

a jewel of a pub in a precious stone of a city. I visited the states and felt very welcome here. I enjoyed my Sunday roast and pint the local brew. the windmill is only far enough away from the beaten away to not win tourist badges, but still to be alive. a great experience!

first, the building is beautiful and the staff is pleasant enough. but there are only 3 vegan options on the menu and one (the burger) is terrible. So I could not give it more than 2 stars for the 2 meals that were in order. not great, just ok. child parts are tiny compared to other places.

love this place that eat and service are excellent. was last week to my friends birthday who lives in stratford. what I like is that they drive down the side of the restaurant and park around the back. puddings are tasty, prosecco 2 x glasses for £6.00 ideal to toast the birthday girl and beautiful large creamy foam coffee. great value for money

with the intention to have vegan fish and chips and to find very disappointed, they had none. the only other choice was a falafel burger. unfortunately it was carved and boiled over. it also had a burger sauce on it that I doubted was vegan as my partner had the same sauce on her fleischburger. I also had vegan suppe for my starter, but the brot came with a puppenbutter on each disc.

The Windmill is an ancient pub with a lot of character but what makes it really worth a visit is it's one of the Greene King pubs that serves Vbites fish for their vegan fish and chips...and I can say that it is by far the best vegan fish and chips I've ever had. A salty fishy flavour with a good texture. Very enjoyable...and the chips are first class too. We also tried the falafel burger which was very good.

I could not recommend the windmill enough! the personal was so welcoming and friendly and went out of the way to check what was suitable for me vegan with a nut allergy. the vegan fish and chips were delicious! I also had three vanillaeis shovels for dessert. they also had other vegan options, with a falafel burger on their main menu, and a chocolate torte with vanilleeis as an additional vegan dessert option.

Sunday 8th juli 2019. I went to stratford. nothing changes, but we like it. only an hour from home and it is a great Wee city on the avon. they always use this pub on our running round. oldie's pretty inside. great staff. good menu. had dinner here on Sunday evening, but this time it was too hot. we shared Ham/Käse toastie and cablejaujons with a small bowl chips. brilliant beer garden on the back with massive sunglasses. had never visited a bad one. to next year. can we have this again?
