"I had my first jaunt on Saturday the mai bank holiday weekend on recommendation from friend/workmate and I am happy with what I found. a beautiful place with a great layout and attentive service. filz welcomes and comfortably wait for my somewhat later coming party of one. I was dressed and recommended to start the economical and crispy poched egg. it was amazing! we ate in the restaurant area where I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed macaroni cheese and garlic bread together with salat, while my date that had already a big lunch on this day had the steak that he was filled to get through. I like this place and will hopefully be back in the future. it also helps to have a beautiful small parking"

Have been wanting to visit here for some time. As a fan of the tv series Auf Wiedersehen Pet I wanted to see The Barley Mow. Great food and great staff made our visit very enjoyable, we will definitely be back soon.

excellent food, lots of service. 2 or 3 courses for a certain price with a good choice on a Sunday made the life easy when they decide what to have. chef made it easy, impressed. I would recommend defo and the smith family will return.

I found this pub in December and have since been there twice—once for a weekday lunch and once for Sunday lunch. The menu has great options, the food quality is impressive, and the atmosphere is excellent, all at very reasonable prices. View menu

An absolute example of a much loved village pub. The staff are knowledgeable and have that home grown genuine service. The food is of a truly higher standard with flavour being their front and back step. You just will NOT be disappointed... The house burger alone makes it very hard to chose something else off the well well thought out menu! Congratulations to the whole team and pub winner it should be!!

I initially visited this restaurant based on a coworker's recommendation, and I haven't regretted it! The ambiance is delightful; the tables are arranged with enough space in between, so you don’t feel cramped. The service has consistently been excellent, and the food is fantastic. My personal favorites are the baked Camembert and the Windmill Burger with Stilton. I would definitely recommend it as a great place to dine!

I've visited this pub several times over the years for a drink or two, and I always appreciate the lovely ambiance. This evening, we decided to try the food for the first time to celebrate my sister's birthday, and I must say we were very impressed. The dishes were cooked to perfection and of excellent quality. Kudos to the kitchen staff and the front-of-house team for providing a delightful evening. I will definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning! View menu

for the first time in the middle of the week. we decided to eat absolutely beautiful from the bar menu. I had a steak and it was perfect, and so they were in charge. the rest of my party has burger with stylton that they also loved. we thought it was also for good food of good quality. you get what you pay for. the personal was great and so was the owner, very attentive. I couldn't do enough to make sure that the evening went well. big merlot also. would go back. hoping it is a regular hunting. also worth the 35-minute drive!

"Just recently moved to a village nearby been to the Thatch 4 times now, so I thought it was about time to give credit where credit is due. The first 3 visits were on Sundays was recommended by our builder, we were not disappointed, hence another 2 Sundays with family in tow these times. The roasts are very tasty, meat cooked to perfection, huge homemade Yorkshire puddings, coliflower cheese to die for gravey like mum used to make, delicious. So we popped in again last night as it was the steak night Thursday. Again, the meal was to die for, very large steaks with all the trimmings, absolutely fantastic. The puddings are naughty but nice, managed to try 4 different ones so far all of them are generously sized delicious. A bit about the staff, again we can not fault. All very polite, friendly happy to serve girls, always in sight should you require anything else. Had a long chat with Sam, the owner at the bar, when we arrived what a lovely welcoming, friendly lady she is. She is obviously putting her heart soul into her new venture we have to say we think she's getting it right. Keep doing what you're doing, Sam the whole team. You've got a lovely restaurant that we certainly want to keep coming back to. Thank you all very much. Nearly forgot because you don't see them, but the chef's are I suppose the unsung hero's. Along with the nice ambience at the Thatch the lovely welcoming friendly staff, the food has been spot on, on all 4 occasions we have visited, so thanks to you too. Don't forget to book to avoid disappointing give the Thatch a try, enjoy!"
