"What an interesting place this is. Far larger than you might expect and the dining areas are really nice. The perfect setting if there is a high quality and varied menu and there certainly is! Lots of choices with several I wanted to try. We were hosted perfectly too. Service: 5"

I was a bit disappointed with this pub/restaurant during our lunch visit. We had made a reservation in advance, noting that some members of our party were vegetarian, but... View menu

"We were recommended this pub by others and have been meaning to go for a while. On arrival the I feel the entrance needed a tidy up as first impressions weren’t that good. Inside however it was quaint and appealing. The arms of the chairs...all kept coming off when you tried to pull your chairs up to the table so definitely needs addressing. When I went to the toilet i felt it was a Shame too as it felt scruffy and the fire door inside the toilet was very dirty and needed a good paint as it made it feel generally untidy and unkempt. It’s a shame as it’s quite an attractive pub inside with the fairy lights on the ceiling. Food was ok but nothing special. The food comes out on slate plates, not on proper plates and chips etc in little baskets. I found mine very difficult to eat trying to lean over things to get to food. I would usually tip it out onto the plate but couldn’t as there was nothing to stop it going on the floor. Looked nice to serve but not practical especially for the kids. When we got there we were told they would do the kids chicken or fish Goujons or make kids portions from things on the menu. My rating is about the cost in general and imparticular the childrens food. I was not told before any costs as there was no official childrens menu. When the bill came I got charged £9.50 for each childrens main course for a 5 8 year old !! EXTORTIONATE, had I been told this before ordering I would not have stayed and gone elsewhere. So for one adult main course and two children’s meals and two children’s ice-creams a glass of Prosecco and some Coca colas it came to £60 !!!! I get two three course meals in most places we go with childrens meal deals for just over half the cost of one of their children’s meals. For a country pub, out the way I would think they need to get people back, unless business is that good they don’t need more customers. I would definately not be going back it’s far too expensive for standard pub food and there are some really nice pubs round here a lot more reasonable prices. If you are a family you need a mortgage to take your kids to eat there !!! Very very disappointing"

"I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Fuel Tank for breakfast, and I must say it was a delightful experience. What sets this cafe apart from others is its welcoming attitude towards our four-legged friends. As a dog owner, finding a pet-friendly establishment that also serves delicious food can be quite a challenge. However, the Fuel Tank exceeded my expectations in both regards. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff, who not only made me feel welcome but also showed genuine affection towards my furry companion. The establishment was spacious and well-lit interior created a warm and inviting ambiance. I appreciated the thoughtful placement of dog bowls filled with fresh water for my canine companion, ensuring they were comfortable throughout our visit. Even had a dog menu! The staff was attentive and accommodating, ensuring that all guests, including our furry friends, were well taken care of. The waitstaff even offered dog treats and interacted with the dogs, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. It was heartwarming to witness the genuine care and love they had for my dog. Overall, I highly recommend the Fuel Tank Cafe for breakfast, especially if you're a dog owner looking for a pet-friendly dining experience. From delicious food options to a warm and welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant truly understands the importance of catering to both four-legged guests. The exceptional service, delightful menu, and pet-friendly approach make the Fuel Tank a standout destination. I will certainly be returning with my furry friend for many more satisfying breakfasts in the future. Pros Free car park! Dog friendly"
