"I booked the night before for Sunday Lunch, when we arrived we were told that they only had one chicken Sunday roast left this was at 2pm. So we ordered 1 x chicken and Vegetarian and one fish and chips, but the waitress said that they had no vegetarian and could just order a plate of vegetables which would be half price!! The waitress came back and said that the chef could cook some baked cod, which I said could I have it with all the other vegtables and yorkshires just like a roast. It came out with 4 x roast potatoes and a pile of samphire instead. The fish was taste less and had no seasoning. The samphire was old and new mixed together and again no seasoning and soggy not crunchy. We even sent back a pint of cola as the machine had not added the syrup( faulty machine) but was still served to us. I'm not sure how you can run out a vegatarin and a roast chicken main. Its not like Blue fin tuna!! I appreciate the chef cooking something else but if you are going to do this make sure that it's great!! 3 x drinks and 3 x mains £59 not great for the food and drink experience we had."

This pub is fantastic! The Sunday roasts are amazing, and the staff is consistently friendly. The new owners are welcoming, and it's a joy to see a neighborhood pub doing so well!

Just had our first pizza from the Three Horseshoes! Absolutely amazing and no grease! Love the fact we can have it to take away too. New owners have just started doing food and did not disappoint

This charming neighborhood pub is welcoming to everyone. The owners were very friendly when we stopped by for a drink. We will definitely return, especially now that they have opened their kitchen. The food looks fantastic.

Popped in for lunch a couple of weeks ago and what a charming pub. We both opted for the Chicken Schnitzel which £14.00 each was excellent. VERY large chicken schnitzel, with chips, coleslaw and a large sweetcorn. Whilst a bit of a wait, at least you knew that it was freshly cooked. Highly recommended View menu

Quite a pleasant meal spoiled when the landlord alleged one of our group had not paid. Our organizer paid the difference before discovering it was not so. A month later heard that another group had had the same experience. Hmmm. The then landlord was due to retire two weeks later, so was perhaps funding his retirement?

I never normally feel the need to write a review, but after such a disappointing visit with mates I felt I should, the pub is dated and in serious need of refurbishment, the beer tasted stale and was typically expensive as most shepherd neame pubs are, it seems to be a pub for locals which is fine. but I don't want to sit trying to relax with foul mouthed people propping the bar up chatting to the landlord who also looked like he had already drank half the bar. nope not for me! I won't be back

Previously recommended this Pub but after another visit I would no longer be so enthusiastic. We went back there after another visit to Mount Ephraim which I would still recommend) and it had changed . I think new owners now , the cost of a drink was the highest I have experienced in a pub this year £11.50 for 2 pints. The garden area that is set back now has plenty of dog mess on it . I think the owners let their dogs use it as they did while we were having our drink ! We wont be going back any time soon. View menu

This pub was a just a few minutes down the road from where me and my partner were staying. We called up to see if we needed to book a table, in which we didn’t, however when we got there we were told about certain items which weren’t on the menu, this wasn’t mentioned on the phone. The menu is already small anyway, but in choosing the bar snacks, they were yummy! I think the pub is definitely more for the drinkers, it was a brilliant atmosphere with many people enjoying themselves. Staff were very friendly and did their best to accommodate us.

I have visited the restaurant a few times since the new owners took over, and I must say I am very impressed. The place has been freshly decorated with new hops displayed, both fires are now lit, and the locals are friendly and talkative. The beer is good and reasonably priced, and I particularly appreciate the addition of locally brewed Kentish PiP. I have enjoyed live music on several evenings with my friends, and I am excited for upcoming events. It's great to see local sports teams and social clubs using the facilities again. The pizzas are fantastic, and I can't wait to try the new menu. Keep up the great work!

"Having been to the Phoenix several times and I believe, this to be my second average review of the food and service, you 'd think they would have taken heed, but clearly not. Firstly, like most top end restaurants in London, they are reserving the right to charge for no shows £20 per head). But, what they are also doing, which is very unfair, is charging you for cancellations within 24 hours of the booking at £10 per head. If one or more of our friends had fallen ill over night it 's the flu season at the moment), they would have been were forced to go for an expensive average Sunday lunch, whilst spreading their germs to the other diners. It also poses the question, what would some do if you book a table less than 24 hours like we did) and then decide to cancel? The excuse that orders for food have already been placed doesn 't really hold water. The Sunday menu forces you to order a minimum of 2 courses at £34 per head. Some of the top London restaurants are charging less for far more opulent Sunday roasts e.g. the Jugged Hare at the Barbican). The Sunday lunch served was simply very average and not value for money. Finally, why are the desserts here, always consistently so bad? I ordered a baked cheesecake and got cream squirted on a piece of cake. When I asked what I had been served, I was told it was chef 's interpretation of a cheesecake. The menu clearly stated baked cheesecake. Not even in my wildest dreams can you interpret a baked cheesecake as a piece of cake with creamed squirted on it! This was promptly returned and replaced with a vile chocolate tart, with pastry so hard I couldn 't cut into it without the fear of smashing the plate it was served on. The chocolate was over salted and the chantilly cream served with it unsweetened. Save your money, go elsewhere."
