"Sunday 21st Jan caught in a very bad snow storm, saw the sign for roast beef dinner at the Title Bar. Went in to smelly dark place a few oldies at the bar. Misery face behind the bar. Asked for roast beef, HAD NONE, Weather was so bad I had lamb dinner instead. After waiting forever, a young girl came with the food on a stone cold plate. Piled high with a defrosted burnt cold yorkshire pudding. Inside of it was huge thick glue. Roast potatoes had been deep fried in a fat fryer, yuk. Three slices of the cheapest fat cut of lamb I have ever seen.It had BEEF gravy poured over it. Half a gravy boat of BEEF GRANUAL gravy. Bowl of stone cold burnt parsnips, carrots and broccoli. I ate half a potato, one spoonful of mash, all cold and then bit into the yorkshire pudding. YUK YUK, it spewed out a mouthful of cold oil i was nearly sick. That did it for me. I just got up and paid the bill, which I was stupid to do. I should just have walked out really. Misery behind the bar just took the money. This was the most gross place I have ever been. A VISIT FROM THE FOOD INSPECTOR IS NEEDED. I WOULDN'T FEED THAT SLOP TO A DOG. I should have taken a photo of the slop but I had to get out because I felt so sick."

One of the staff has serious personal hygiene issues. Which is a shame because they are great at their job. Will go back though

Vist here regularly as it's the only pub in Northallerton with quality craft beers and good range of Belgian beers which are my favourites. Always friendly welcoming and efficient service. Keep it up Paul (the service level that is)!

I've always been a fan of this place, yesterday we went for a few drinks after working with friends. Typical charming atmosphere and comfort. A point of discussion was when I asked for a painting and the boy (I think he's the director) explained that it was expensive... .

Great bar, sadly no food this visit but happy that we ate a sandwich bought over the road in popular underwear shop. Excellent Tim Taylor Boltmaker. Sad that we got a parking ticket from an over zealous TW after only a few minutes. Amazing how two hours passed in Northallerton. Sad to say, lovely town but parking should be free. It (not the beer) leaves a sour taste. Nice selection of beers in tasteful bar . View menu

1 HR wait for food, no apology , no updates on our food where it was was it coming, we eventually asked after 40mins to be told it was on its way 20mins later still no food. When food did arrive it came in different stages so we could not all eat together as if we waited food would be cold. The place was basically empty and we still had to wait all this time. We paid and left again no apology. Also every vinegar bottle had lots of dead fly's in we just realised as our daughter was about to pour it on her food. Staff seemed nice but hard to tell with such a bad experience. Great selection of beers and booze tho. Such a shame

Great place for our 15 group to stay for a drink after work Friday night. We sit in an area with comfortable chairs arranged around a low table. Eight of us ordered a meal and although it does not fill 4 meals we arrive an hour later, followed by 3 meals, 15 minutes later and the last five-minute dinner after that. The food was good, but I had ordered Chicken Chasseur with Parmentier potatoes. What they gave me was pechuga roast chicken with some dried tomatoes and mushrooms that, not the amount of salsa. The chicken was fine as it was the sauce- it's not, but the lack of sauce did dry. The accompanying vegetables were to finance it, green beans, crushed raw cabbage and carrots that don't go...

Visited on Saturday evening 7pm, bar busy with drinkers no one really eating, we booked upstairs only ones in the restaurant. Had to wait to be served, waitress came once I walked over to her, starters took a long time to come but well worth the wait, chicken wings (actually small drumsticks) but beautifully cooked and so tasty, Hallumi chips were really good. I ordered the steak and ale pie, which had very soggy pastry and large lumps of potato and carrot inside only found a couple of pieces of meat, very disappointing. Husband ordered burger even the bun was overdone you could clearly see how overdone so why they sent it out is beyond me. Great that they allow dogs and would go for a drink... View menu

I often frequent this establishment, and was present when this harridan visited. I have never heard any complaints about the food, but apparently the barman 's (that 'll be the manager 's) explanation that the food is prepared freshly and to a traditional recipe (cream which has lemon added to it to sour it, with coriander) was not sufficient for this woman. She unfairly whinged about the the landlord 's dog online, but I have never had any problems with him he is certainly not an aggressive Beagle. The pub is indeed dog friendly, and I have found the staff to be most helpful all the time. The woman in question was rude, abrupt and very unpleasant. Her review mentions how she feels she was s...

We came here as a big works do on sunday 21st may for leaving drinks for two of our chefs. First impressions were brilliant, the locals were friendly, I even met a 4 legged friend named hetty who I wanted to take to our party upstairs too!! I was so busy talking to my new friend hetty that I walked up to the party after petting her and forgot my drink!! The lovely barman left his station and brought my drink up for me which I thought was lovely of him!! They didn't complain about the noise we were making and the establishment itself is quite sophisticated not like some of the grotty pubs around northallerton. I would actually come back to this one for a function and bring my 4 legged fur bab...
