"We had seen some FB reviews recommending this little pub in Debden Purlieu/Hythe up a no through lane and overlooking a wooded area) There was parking on a slope and a group of wild birds on the grass. A small outside area had bench...tables. It has been u dear new ownership since last March and there was evidence of refurbishment in the bar and dining room still got the toilet area to do) The waitress was welcoming and pro active, the landlord was overseeing the locals in the bar area which had a Sports t v . Roast lunches £10, are served between 12.30 and 3 and we had a choice of beef, lamb shank and pork, with a huge Yorkshire and veg. About a dozen people were eating. We ordered desserts rhubarb crumble and berry meringue , under £5 too There is a landlord’s quiz on Sunday nights from 7 pm which we were interested in though no food is available at the moment. The lunches were possibly too generous and tasty although the beef slices were too well done and thick for me and the gravy could be thicker There is free WiFi and a cosy ambiance so we will return."

A scruffy pub in serious need of a refurb. When the old tenants moves out we thought the new ones would spruce the place up. It's probably worse than it was before.

A fantastic little traditional pub hidden in a simply beautiful rural location. Parking and garden with a fantastic view. They have a new chef who is exceptional. Our food was nothing less than outstanding. Great live music in the garden too. Very impressive service, friendly...and on the ball. Highly recommend a visit soon. View menu

Nipped in here for lunch and a drink. We’re staying at Gardeners Cittage nearby. We had lamb shank with mash, peas and gravy. Very nice. Locals and staff are very friendly. We had Lola the dog with us and she was very well received! The...only thing I would say is please stock more bitters. They only have John Smiths. Otherwise lovely!

had an amazing take away frying today, 2 huhn and 1 gay. although my son said that the owl was not the best, he shared a part of the generous part of the chicken roast I had and thrown into the rest. never saw cracks like that!. General portions of veg, contain excruciating, carrots, broken papasnip, pork and roast potatoes, there had even light green brokkoli, in contrast to we had before elsewhere, all perfectly cooked and gave the whole presentation a wonderful color. the only thing that was wrong, because it was going out and had a hidden container, was the yorkshire pudding not crunching, but that could not be helped and certainly not spoil the joy. we ended up with one of the gloomy, c...

"Bacaro is situated in Ocean village and it is a little gem of a place. It is tastefully decorated for a chilled and relaxing time that you will have. There is both a restaurant and bar area and you feel at ease in the place !! Anyway upon arrival you are always greeted with a smile by the happy bar staff which is always lovely I have always loved this place but I would only give a top rating if it deserved it and not through loyalty !! Tonight I had arancini, crayfish linguine and garlic bread, washed down with a lovely glass of house red. The arancini are just the best I have ever tasted, they are both filling but light, the taste is a joy for the taste buds and obviously highly recommended. The linguine is a good portion, I love the flavours and the way the dish is both cooked and presented, the crayfish has a subtle flavour and I never leave any of it. The garlic bread is filling and not dry, they don't skimp on the garlic butter I can't fault the food at all and never have done this is mainly due to the sublime cooking skills from the chefs Greg, Alex and all the wonderful kitchen staff. Bacaro is expertly run the effervescent manager Sophie, for the job you do and how you run Bacaro I tip my hat to you Sophie is well backed up by Matt, Eleanor, Conor, Sindija and all the other wonderful staff ... You make the place and we are grateful for the brilliant jobs you do Very highly recommend"
