Victoria Carvery Steak Grill

Victoria Hotel is a nice place. I spent five nights there and it is quiet and off the beaten path. Evening carvery produces nice meals and hot breakfast is typically included.

Comfy room, a bit of a squeeze to get past the bed to the kettle. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Food was good value, great continental range. Bathroom clean. 15min walk to the city. Would stay again if ever in Canterbury!

My sister and I have just got home after two nights at this hotel. We would recommend it to anyone. The room was spotless, all of the staff were really friendly and welcoming nothing seemed too much. We had a really nice meal in the restaurant. A lovely place to stay.

Just had a meal food was good. Very noisy table next to us with kids running about shouting etc. Service very slow especially towards end seemed more interested in cleaning other tables than serving us. Asked for another drink never did receive it. Same happened last time we came !

I was surprised that three days into a seriously cold spell with snow on the ground, the Victoria Hotel had made no effort to grit, salt or clear their carpark. The ice was thick, treacherous and unavoidable on our walk in. We were concerned for the safety of a disabled friend. The food was good and service was prompt.

Lovely quiet room. Neat clean and tidy. Large bed and large size. Peaceful pretty garden as well. Good value for money. Book direct to get discounts/breakfast included. Good choice of food for breakfast. Great fair priced carvery every night. Ideal for walking into the centre with a large carpark. Easy to find on the outskirts.

Not been here for a meal for a while and don't think we will be going back any time soon. We ordered a beef and ale pie and the salmon, when the pie came it was chicken and was told that there was no sauce for the salmon. Our friends had the carvery and although it was passable the meat was dry where it had been under the heat lamps too long. In their defence they did not charge for the pie but the overall standard was poor.

We were warmly greeted by Rosario on reception. Once we were checked in, she helped us with directions into town and supplied us with a map. The room was on the small size, which was fine for us. Crisp clean linen and fluffy towels. Comfy bed. Hot shower. Warm enough not to need the radiator on at all. Nice and quiet, located out the back. Rooms out front would be noisy due to traffic, I imagine. Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice for cooked or continental. Nice big car park out back, and only a 15 min walk to town. All the staff we interacted with were lovely, and very helpful. Would stay again.

Very insulted by Rosario the manager this evening. We have come to the hotel restaurant for meals over the last year as we are Local, and can walk. Occasionally in a restaurant, if things aren’t right, you feel a need just to say. Quite simply the vegetables with my pie were old and did not taste right at all and I had to leave them. My partners stroganoff was just warm, not properly hot at all. Clearly this had been served on a cold plate and that’s why this was not hot. First opportunity had said this to the manager as she was the next person we saw come in the restaurant, I’d almost finished my meal and just the pie that was okay and it was really too late to get any other food after the...
