"the oskar offers upscale bistro cuisine in a pleasantly neutral ambiente. "good ol ́ german cozyness" in spite of the touri edition in the old town is omitted. eating was good, but not overwhelming. an excitingly announced appetizer, e.g., turned out to be a gurken pencil in creme fraiche, which were covered with two small lachs and sprinkled. my crème Brûlée had a very easy tweeper-like absenton - perhaps in the kitchen or in the cooling something got off. I should have told you. the wine card is quite annoying for a self-proclaimed vinothek. the German part offers almost exclusively overpriced (30 € ) good wines of the usual suspects (kuhn, knpiser, dönnhoff, "TakkaTukka-Schneider", Laible). The restaurant or during our visit, service manager was mainly concerned with auditing the obviously untrained help waiters and teaching them the small service-einmaleins "on the job". that annoys and costs a lot of attention, which you can no longer bring to the hospitable."

The service was great. The female server was friendly and polite. However, the asparagus soup I ordered was UNBELIEVABlY salty! It was so salty that my tongue hurts... I know German people love to use lot of salts, but I would suggest they should cook considering international customers' taste.

A real surprise for me was this elegant restaurant in the heart of the old city. From the entance to the dishes everything is nice. The way you are greated and the way the food is presented. Most of the dishes are very good. As for foie gras I would say there a lot to be done! Please work on it and clients will be fully satisfied. Overall the place is very good! Reservations recommended. eat in heidelberg. traditional German recipes additionally to very fantasies. eating is excellently prepared and presented. our server, francie was prompt, polite, always a step ahead of our needs, and very helpful with recommendations regarding food restrictions (which led to a dessert of granat apple berries, ice cream and warm chocolate sauce — best ever). highly recommended. recommended reservations.

Good food and wine, nevertheless the wine glasses smelled of what I thought was cigarette smoke, which then the staff convinced me was impregnated on the glass through the aromatic storage wooden shelves. Regardless of the reason, the smokey smell was so strong, I couldn't properly smell/taste my first wines of a 4 course meal before I dared to speak up and then had to actually make a case for it. Wine glasses should smell of nothing so as to enjoy the expensive wines offered in this place. Please address this : ... otherwise charming place.
