"Right across the road from the train station is that holy drinking area, Caledonia street with the trendiest restaurants and cocktail bars in Central london, next to Camden of course. We just found this lovely place called VOC' bar and grill. It looks like a cosy museum inside with relics from the 18th century, Indonesia to be precise. The bartender did some lovely cocktails for us and when we asked for a menu, were told that there was a dining room upstairs. Well, we went upstairs when the food was ready and that was probably the best Sirloin i've had in a long time, in fact it tasted a lot like the Kobe beef I had a while back in Tokyo. The atmosphere of the whole place was great as...read more"

we had pissed off from the crispy hat, as it felt like something we could just get anywhere else, but our waitress asked us to order it, and we were so glad that it did. crispy, tenderly broken, delicious little bites of the sky. at the end of our meal we all ignored the reasons and ordered another!

We went there for drinks yesterday. The bartender is very good, he knows a lot of tricks, so the cocktails are first class. The chef is another. I had the smoked cheese burger and it was surprisingly very good. Very trendy pub and I like the mood. many pretty girls, many refined people. I will return soon.

I do not know what their secret is, but I think they got the formula right here because we were here last evening and the atmosphere was fantastic, bartender made even better cocktails and the food was as good as any five star hotels. Cant figure out how they do it as the bar actually looks like a museum/library, but people just love it. It's mostly the yuppie type and their mixmaster just keeps on putting out cocktail after cocktail. Hint , have the Smoked Cheese burger , its incredible.

I have the habit of losing myself in london at the moment (mostly thanks, or perhaps not thanks to citymapper – the latest navigation attempted to find voc grill in King’s cross. I met my buddy charlotte I met a year ago when she made the pr for barbers cheese. people who like cheese are always good people I finally found the bar and restaurant - it was removed in an inn next to camino, unfortunately not very well signposted, unless I was just silly. but then charlotte encountered the exact same problem, so maybe it's not just me!

I was out drinking with friends on the weekend and we ended up here. The place is reputed to serve really good food and drink. The mixmaster made us a round of cocktails. I had the south sea mountain, it was fab. Someone mentioned food after an hour or so and I went for the smoked cheese burger. It was the best burger I have had in a cocktail bar, period. Later on we realised that there was a restaurant upstairs and the food was actually of that quality. It was still the best burger i've had, the best cocktails as well and we're going back soon.

the voc restaurant and the bar are a stylish, intimate room that serves sensational innovative cocktails/punch and a tastefully merciful little dish menu. after the Vereenigde Oost Indian, more widespread than the Dutch East India company; voc is a cozy, welcoming, casual place. After watching the new development of kings cross in recent years, it was interesting to observe the variation of the options that have grown up. voc is a longer established occupant who remains so relevant and contemporary in his offer as always what is fantastic at voc, is the fact that they can go happy...read more

Woot! Woot! a new twist on the cocktail bar thing. No. This is a bona fide cocktail bar with a resident mixologist and a restaurant serving gourmet quality cuisine food to boot. Our first visit here was memorable as we wee on our fifth round when someone mentioned food. The menu had some interesting items on so we got a selection to share. To put it mildly, the food was incredible. Both burgers tasted so different from burgers anywhere else , really, we were not drunk yet The panko calimari, nachos and grilled halloumi tasted incredible, like the food at a hotel conference do or something. Anyway, I know what I like and this place is really unique and we will be returning...read more

The King’s Cross area is completely unrecognisable to how it was a few years back. The whole station has been redeveloped. Fried chicken shops are being replaced by trendy restaurants, along with luxury hotels popping up and a wealth of cocktails wine bars have opened their doors. VOC, located in the gorgeous Varnishers Yard was one of the first to jump onto the trend here and I remember attending the launch a few years back when I wrote for another publication. It was buzzing, the cocktails were fab and the food not bad. A few years on and it still retains a lot of the same. The cocktails are still very good, in fact better. The place has a fantastic atmosphere in the bar area and...read mo...
