"Wani Sabi, I am told by my local friends, was the first Japanese restaurant in Florence. Bringing a different cuisine in Italy is no easy task so they deserve credit for effort and persistence. We were a party of 7 sitting in the comfortable outdoor seating area. I started with some vegetarian sushi and then a soba noodle bowl with some vegetable tempura on the side. The sushi was superb. The soba noodles were good but could have had a few more vegetables. The tempura was tasty though the crust was a little oily meaning that the temperature of the frying oil was lower than it should have been. For dessert I tried a chocolate torte which was average and been frozen. This I can understand. Japanese traditionally don’t have much of a sweet tooth. I probably should have tried the mochi sweets or the green tea ice cream. Service was friendly and prompt and the prices were moderate."
