"To anyone visiting beautiful Riquewihr for the first time, it's worth knowing which are the touristic and which are the classic Alsatian restaurants. Au Dolder is very much in the latter category (also see Le Tire Bouchon, La Grappe D'Or, Brendelstub). Welcoming professional staff and all the classic Alsatian dishes cooked to a high level, with one or two others so there is something for everyone. Portions are substantial and even for three adults two dishes is enough. Good selection of local wines, fairly priced."

"friendly welcome attentive in a beautiful room not very noisy even full. The house mistress is smiling and coming. it accurately presents the approach of the leader. a discreet and effective sommelier, a wine map organized with intelligence and originality. a careful team with a real care and detail: example hot towel with rosemary on arrival and choice of knives, a beautiful initiative. the idea of eating vegetables throughout a meal seems simple yet the work around the ingredients is perfect, the flavors are sublimated and totally preserved. the assembly of all the elements of the dishes together forms an additional dish. this perfectly successful work, shows both the originality of the chef, his mastery, his ability to manage all flavors with true gustative intelligence. This meal led us to discover, to assemble together without any doubt about it or wanted to take the chef to us. At the end of this meal, we traveled through the gustative universe of a chef and a team who knew for three hours to bring us real gastronomic happiness. Thank you."

"A great step. A great waitress. The interior is beautifully decorated. We ate flames that they were very good, served with a bowl of crudities. desserts must also fall on the ground. Not frankly, go to the eyes closed, it's a safe value. to answer a comment I saw, the toilets are very clean. Don't change anything like that."

"First visit back after lockdown to this Alsatian gem. We have been a few times and always find the two hour each way drive from home worth the effort. The restaurant is modern, comfortable and even cosier after its rework. The dishes are outstanding and...imaginative. We needed dishes adapted for one of our party and each adaptation was as much a delight as the main offering. This is not always the case elsewhere. Service is seamless. Chef was serving some dishes himself on this evening. It is great to get a feel for his passion for his craft. He also freely offers cooking tips, although matching his skills seems like a challenge. Non-alcoholic drinks pairing was an innovative use of local ingredients like the cuisine. This might not suit a less adventurous palate though. It is a testament to the chef that it is diifficult to name a highlight dish; all plant, fish and meat were sublime. What stands out for us is Chef’s use of plants, flowers and herbs across all dishes. Slow coffee is an interesting way to end a meal. Highly recommend."
