"We love visiting Yo Sushi when we’re in Plymouth but we were shocked by the dirt that we saw. Sadly we won’t be returning to this location. The food was good but when we looked around the place it put us off. Food underneath our table, dirty conveyor belt, a dirty sink where clean plate covers were stored and put over our food! We had no chopsticks/cutlery on our table so we asked for some but it never came so we had to find our own from another table. We discreetly told a member of staff our concerns about hygiene and they said they would speak to the manager. Cue a lot of staring and whispering from the staff and a sudden urge to sweep all the food that had earlier been wiped on the floor! The manager never came to speak to us. When I asked the member of staff if she’d spoken to the manager she said she had but he’d said he was too busy to speak to us about our concerns. We finally got to speak to the manager as we were leaving and his first response was “If you don’t like it, you shouldn’t eat here!” That won’t be an issue from now on, plenty of other restaurants to try in Plymouth!"

A little expensive but the staff are always so welcoming and friendly. All staff in the food industry should strive to be like these guys!

We eat here regularly because the staff are just the loveliest most helpful I've ever come across. The food is outstanding. Better even than other Yo sushis. Cant recommend them enough!

I had made a reservation for 6:45 a week in advance because we had cinema tickets. However, I received a call 3 hours before the reservation informing me that it could be cancelled unless we arrived by 6 and ordered all our food by 6:15. I decided to cancel the reservation and we will be celebrating my birthday at a different restaurant.

Wow guys... really disappointed...After years of being an avid Yosushi fan really let down by the portion sizes today? Honey I shrunk the dishes, but kept the prices the same!!!Really shocked after years of contentment and enjoyment of my mother and me coming to enjoy the lovely food spending £70 a time today was a let down and won’t be back soon!!! Loved eating at this yo sushi! Staff were so kind to give us 2 free desserts for Christmas and my friends birthday and even opened up the kitchen again to cook our order though they were closing. Prices can be expensive if you order a lot but that’s standard with eating out. However, the food was so delicious aswell. Will come again : so thank you guys.

Heads up people, currently Yo cannot accept The Restaurant Choice Gift Card as you can only order via mobile ordering which requires a credit or debit card, despite the app having an option for gift cards, The Restaurant Gift Card apparently has to be manually swiped, Other than this issue, the food was excellent and would definitely recommendThe Manager at Yo gave us a complimentary chocolate cheesecake as a sorry for not being able to use the gift card which was a nice surprise and shows that Yo provide excellent customer service

"Visited on a busy Saturday evening. General impression is the restaurant is clean, well presented and evidently well liked for how many people were in the small dining area. A little noisy, particularly in the confined space beside the kitchen, when seated close beside a louder table. As the evening progressed, we felt quite cold not sure if the heating was on? Service from the staff was outstanding, very friendly, polite, attentive, but food was slow to arrive. We were a little perplexed by having the appetiser on the table before our starter/main order had been taken, so having to work around still having the menus. The smoked butter was very strong my partner liked it, it was too much for me. Both fish starters were good, with the mackerel our favourite. The main courses were OK. The lamb was fine, but served with lamb fat root veg meant the whole plate was very similar flavoured, and the green beans/salsa verde felt like an afterthought. The skate wing was nice, and the crispy capers were a new and pleasant experience. The desserts rescued the food for me the creme brulée was outstanding, and the chocolate special was very good, with exception of a slightly chewy meringue. I feel I'm being picky with my criticisms, but fig tree is definitely priced higher than other more standard fare restaurants in Plymouth where we have also had very good food."
