"It 's arguably the place to go to in the area based on the dining room presentation and great service. We couldn 't find fault with anything, but obviously the food is down to personal preference. The presentation of the sheekh kebab was excellent, served on a skillet with an impressive looking salad. As we shared the starter they generously provided an additional salad plate. I like my food packed with flavour and a bit of heat. Similarly do does the wife but with much less heat. Just for a change I went with a sag pathia, the wife a dupiaza. Superb chicken in both our mains, and we enjoyed the sides. One odd thing was that the Kulfi dessert comprised of two of those dalek looking portions. Not the cheapest around but well worth it especially as you can take your own alcohol. Parking may be an issue but it 's definitely worth a short walk if needed."

Lovely food, lovely setting, great staff. You're welcome to bring your own drinks, even though they gave a well stocked bar. Not many in on the night we were in, and it was a bit chilly. Otherwise fabulous

Nice interior and good service. Starters and sides very good and tasty but mains all tasted the same. The base gravy used lacked flavour so the dishes had quite a bland taste. A shame as everything else was good.

Visited Zaalsha tonight and the food was absolutely perfect. I would recommend visiting if you haven’t already. Zaak and the team were 10/10 for customer service and taking care of us and the food was levels above any Indian restaurant I’ve visited in the last 20 years last time we had food this good was at teknaf 20 odd years ago (also owned by zaak) Wonderful as always and we will be back again soon

Wife and l spent Christmas and New Year with our daughters in Harborne and Bournville, Birmingham. First time in years due to their shift rota! NHS. Having been a regular for a few years, we had to have a takeaway from Zaalshas Indian Restaurant. We all had different meals each and did the usual tasting of each others. Every meal was very tasty without being excessively hot or bland. The quantity of food allowed some ‘extra’ meals for the following day, again enjoyed! Certainly value for money and sooooo tasty, the sides of Bhaji’s, Samosa’s, Pakora’s etc etc were sublime, as was the rest of the meal. A big THANK YOU to all the guys working there. Looking forward to Feb 2023 for our next vis...

"The food is really enjoyable. Some of the meat can be a bit dry in parts but generally speaking it's quite good. Is it better than what you'd get at the average chippy? Not for what it costs. Ordering two box meals and a couple of sides got the cost up to £50 with charges. Considering a large mixed meat in naan at my local chip shop is £7, it's incredibly expensive. There's far too much waste which really needs to be addressed. Every food item is at least two layers of packaging deep. With a box meal you have the outer corrugated cardboard box, then all dividers inside, then the kebab sandwich is in a box of its own, then it's in a foil wrapper, then it's in a paper wrapper. It's all needless waste and when we're all trying to be more conscious of our carbon footprint this just isn't required. There are some nice things that just aren't replicated elsewhere, their kebab bread is fantastic and very similar to a traditional Turkish pide. Their sauces are really good too. Full of flavour and balanced well with the meat but I will say there's never enough of it. Three little poxy pots is all you get.The fries are average. Nothing remarkable about them. The spicy fries are a tasty addition but this option does bump up the price but again, perfectly average.Overall I'd recommend that it's worth trying at least once but the prices are way over valued and quantity in some areas lack. If they cut down on all the needless packaging they could even bring the prices down but £15-20 for a box meal (one can of pop, one kebab sandwich, one fries and two spring rolls) it's a bit of a joke."
