"What used to be a great place to eat .Is now to be avoided al all costs whist the food is of a good standard .Cant say the same of the service we received, we had a table booked for 7.15 our drinks starter were served promptly .Then it all started to go downhill ,there was a steady flow of just eat delivery drivers in out after waiting for an hour we asked where are main meal .The waiter responded, with the following comment just eat comes first we will bring you your meal in a while .at which point we requested the bill for what we had been served A manager then came to our table to apologise ten minutes later are main course arrived .We wont be going back"

"My family and I had a pre-Christmas meal at the Hoddington Arms. We were greeted warmly and the service we received throughout our meal was exceptional. Our waitress was friendly and talkative, offering menu suggestions and knowledge of the wine list. The food was beautifully presented and cooked to our specifications. I would highly recommend the Hoddington Arms to anyone."

"My first visit and sure it will not be the last. Dined with friend who has enjoyed meals here for many years. Seems that a consistent high standard is maintained, as can be seen from other reviews. Food was delicious, served by staff who really know their stuff no dashing back to chef to answer queries! Menu is not extensive, which is generally a good sign as here, with favourite dishes regularly on the menu such as the twice baked cheese souffle and duck breast and confit leg highly recommended. Definitely a good idea to book in good time as deservedly very popular."

"Went to try toward the end of the first week following the reopening. The place looks so much better and the idea of taking away the small bar and increasing the dining area was a great idea. Food was nice, longish wait for it, tasty...enough and hot. The main bar has been redecorated but suffers the problem of the old Barley Mow, where the ‘hard drinking locals’ set themselves up at the bar and make it impossible for anyone else to get served. In fact they just wave their glasses and you get ignored. As I said, nice enough but until they sort out the bar, we will not be rushing back."

"The restaurant doesn't look appealing from the outside and also looks closed. Although not very busy we were given a table near the counter where takeaways were ordered which was a bit annoying during the meal. When the main course arrived the waiter tipped the rice onto our plates instead of allowing us to serve ourselves to the amount we wanted. We were disturbed by four different staff members asking us if we were happy with the food, which was a bit obtrusive whilst trying to eat. The ice-cream desserts were over priced so bought one in the Co-op over the road. The food was excellent which made up for the odd experience."

"wow! first line. we were in the hayloft last night. the room was speculative, as there were no conceivable dust particles in the room/pub. the super comfortable king size bed was amazing, it was so hard to get out! the room ' tasty decor was accompanied by stylish fittings and fittings throughout the room. as in all areas in the pub is the love of detail phenomenal. our three course evenings were raised, we both had skalopps to start, steak and confit ente for net and the life-changing chocolate mousse for plucking. simon, jason and team are beautiful, welcoming, professional and contemplative, a real pleasure to stay in this wonderful facility. many thanks again for the care around us, we really loved it. emeline and neil"

"Just got back from KTT tearoom. So disappointed!! We have wanted to visit for a long time but have never managed to get there until today. Not sure we will be returning! Initially it was great! Lovely decor and a lovely vibe as it was lively, even though it was only half full. The waitress took our order immediately and was friendly. Then it all went downhill. We waited and waited for our food and then my meal came out and then my husband’s toast which went with his meal (the toast was already cold). Then nothing else arrived! So my husband said to eat mine so it didn’t go cold. So I ate my entire meal and his still didn’t arrive! We weren’t the only ones that this happened to! There was another table where the same thing was happening. I finished my meal and then my husband’s meal appeared! The poor waitress looked mortified! I felt so sorry for her! Clearly the kitchen were too slow and not organised as meals were randomly coming out! If I go out to eat with my husband, then I expect to eat at the same time!! Someone needs to sort the kitchen service out as it is slow and haphazard!! The poor waitress had to placate the customers waiting and it clearly wasn’t her fault! It was such a shame as the food was ok, but the kitchen service appalling! Not sure we will return!"

"Although the restaurant didn't appear to have received our Open Table booking, we were promptly and efficiently seated. The menu was extensive and the dishes being served to the adjacent tables looked fantastic. When our order arrived, we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and the service was efficient. The ambiance was buzzing, with couples, groups and families all enjoying themselves. We would definitely go to Tadley Tandoori again and have recommended it to our friends."

"Visited this pub with 7 work colleagues. We were warmly welcomed and the staff couldn’t do enough to help you. There is parking directly outside the pub in a public Carpark which is free. I ordered the following: Crab cakes- nicely cooked but slightly bland....A good size salad did accompany it though. Smoked sausage and mash- the sausages were ok, mash average and the gravy was very watery. Sticky toffee pudding- average Overall- I would definitely come back for a drink and the nice atmosphere but would give the food a miss. This was the general consensus of all my work colleagues. There was a quiz on the evening we visited but did not stay to partake."

"Before the lockdown, this pub was a favorite spot for dinner, offering great food and ambiance. However, upon our return, we were surprised to see how much the place had changed. The food was still good, but it was more of a typical pub menu with a few specials, a departure from the past. The real disappointment was the state of the pub itself – it seemed run-down and cold. The walls and fairy light cables were covered in cobwebs, the fire was not lit, and the only source of heat appeared to be a plug-in oil-filled radiator. The staff were friendly and the food was enjoyable, but the pub could greatly benefit from a thorough cleaning and better heating, especially during this time of year."

"5 stars for the amazing food. We booked this for our 25th anniversary. Due to the lack of acknowledgement and not so attentive service I can only give 3 stars. We ordered a bottle of wine and had to serve ourselves, the table was next to the kitchen door and the main walkway to lots of tables. Menus are difficult to read and although they are read out to you we resorted to the internet to get a better look of the food. I had the venison gnocchi with a white wine sauce which was delicious. My husband had the steak and said it was good. Special occasion for us, but spoilt by the atmosphere. Price per person: £60–70 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Venison and Gnocchi"

"The good reviews led us to this pub after a very long muddy walk at Pamber Forest with my dog and a friend. Unfortunately we did not feel welcome, it didn’t feel warm. It felt snubby like “local pub for local people”. It was quiet when we came around ~13:50 on a saturday afternoon. I asked if they are serving lunch, i was told they stopped serving food at 2.. (checked my watch and it was only less than 10min to two). We were also told they only accept cash. It would help if they put somehere in the details to say only accepts cash. I would have gone with cash in hand! Overall, just very disappointed…the lady behind the bar came across like she did not want to serve us. We were desparate for drinks or just water as we were walking for ~10kms and got lost in the way just to get to this pub. Shame."

"Pretty bad... Twice now have had food arrive not only very late but cold, wrong and flavourless. Both mains had very overcooked meat in sauce that tasted watered down the cheese nan literally had what looks tastes like burger cheese in it. We ate it because we were hungry. "Had a family gathering at this pub to celebrate my daughter’s recent birthday. We all ate and had drinks there. Service, politeness and helpfulness of staff was good. Being a party over a certain number we had to pre book our starters and main course which wasn’t a problem, but I found this establishments food and drinks way over priced, both food and drink. Large white wine £9.90, firstly ferret pint £5.90. You can view the price of the meals on their website. I just had a burger which came with chips. It was quite nice but quite average. Before I started eating it the bottom half of the bun was soaked in burger grease and was mush. The chips I wouldn’t be surprised if they were McCain’s straight frozen or possibly some other brand, but not fresh made. Holding the burger together was a wooden skewer and placed on top of the burger was two slightly cooked onion rings which I would say also come out of the freezer. I have eaten better burgers from McDonald’s or Burger King for half the price. My wife had Dover Sole and said the fish was nice, but over priced. For a sweet four of us had baklava. It’s was a fair portion of baklava, but rated about a 6.5 to 7 10. As we left the pub I only counted 4 people in the pub, perhaps there were more that I couldn’t see, this was at approx 18:30 on a Saturday evening. The inside of the pub is nice, shame about the prices. My wife asked me would I come here again, I replied I wouldn’t choose to come here, and she agreed. It wasn’t my choice to go there for this visit. The quality of the food doesn’t warrant such high prices."

"Booked a party of ten last minute. Turned up, filled in the waivers, got some socks, had a briefing and off the kids went. After reading the reviews I very nearly cancelled, glad we didn’t as everyone enjoyed themselves. I’m not sure what planet some of these bad reviewers live on. Just a couple of points, yes there maybe queues and it maybe hectic, that’s what happens when people bring dozens of kids who aren’t their own out for the day. Yes the watered down squash isn’t great, it’s squash it’s meant to be watered down, if it’s too weak ask them to put more concentrate in, it’s utilitarian, it does the job. Yes it’s busy, I bet it’s even busier when it’s cold and wet and parents are trying to find something to do with the kids, everyone is in the same boat. This is a kids activity it is busy, there are loads of kids but they are enjoying themselves, we had a great time, the staff were friendly, polite and helpful."

"Very lovely eatery. The portion sizes are ideal, the food is very flavoursome. They have a good selection of drinks. Above all else, the staff were incredible during our visit. A lovely lady called Samantha looks after the 8 of us is such a courteous and caring manner. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available (but weren't tried by my party) Parking: Over thirty spaces in a private carpark in front of the pub, easily accessible just off the main road. Kid-friendliness: All children are given a kiddies entertainment pack (as per the photo in my review), the staff are so understanding and friendly to the children."

"We were served by José who is one of the best waiters we have ever had. His knowledge of the food on the menu was above and beyond, and he was friendly and chatty. "My niece and nephew were meeting up for a family lunch with their partners. I have dined at the Crown a few times and have found the owners very welcoming. The Crown is an ideal venue for a good value home cooked meal. We hadn’t booked as it was rather an impromptu event. There were 7 of us, Suzanne organised a table promptly for our group. My husband although having popped in for a pint on various occasions hadn’t eaten here before. His verdict on his pie , mash and veg was excellent, he said best pub pie in ages. The chicken curry’s went down well. The homemade broccoli and Stilton soup was delicious. Steak and chips fab. The puddings went down well. My niece ordered the chocolate brownie and requested whipped cream. Nothing was too much effort. Thankyou for your service and hospitality at the last minute. We will of course return."

"I went to this restaurant with some friends for dinner. We all liked the food and found the prices to be reasonable. My only complaint is that I wished there was more custard with my crumble, as the half-full jug was not enough. The staff were friendly and the service was good, but I had mentioned my disability when booking online and was disappointed to find our table was down steps and far from the entrance and toilets. Additionally, there was no designated disabled parking space, which made it challenging for me as the car park was full. Because of these factors, I likely won't be returning to this restaurant."

"Large cod was all batter and no fish, so actually was about the same size as the small one was. Chips were odd, I thought they were under cooked, yet they were more rubbery than anything. Hubby said he got grit in his, very much as though they hadn 't been in the rumbler long enough to get the soil out of the potatoes correctly. Probably the worst chips I have ever had tbh."
