"I like the restaurant. However they don’t serve the restaurant menu till 6:30. So I had to chose from limited options which was served before that time. I visited twice—first for breakfast around 12:00 PM, but I was told breakfast is only served until 11:30 AM, so I had to settle for a less preferred option. It wasn’t bad, just not what I had in mind. I came back again at 5:00 PM hoping to try the restaurant menu, but was informed it’s not available until 6:30 PM. I had to order from the café menu, which had limited options. Although the staff were friendly, service was a bit slow—I had to request the bill several times and waited around 30 minutes to get it. Despite that, I’d still like to return after 6:30 PM to try the full restaurant menu. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"

"The service at this restaurant is consistently chaotic, and unfortunately, the food is very average and overpriced. To make matters worse, the food is served in the lounge area rather than in the main restaurant."

"My daughter took me for brunch on a voucher offer. First issue brunch doesn 't exist despite it saying so on the confirmation email. So we ended up having lunch. The actual food was ok. Everything else was not. The waiting staff appear to have no idea what to do, ie wait on tables. Their English is limited it took a while to ascertain that brunch wasn 't available as words such as crossiant were not understood. Ditto balsamic . The first course and the prosecco were successfully delivered and enjoyed. Our plates were not taken away until the next course arrived. My daughter had the wrong meal, it was salmon but with all the wrong accompanyments (they had given her a similar meal from another menu available to non voucher customers but not what my daughter ordered or wanted). So they left my lunch, plus the salmon and took the accompanyments away. I had just finished mine when they returned with the correct part of the meal to go with her now cold salmon. No one ever apologised or asked how our meal was. All around us we could hear sorry . Sorry that you have to leave because your drinks didn 't arrive, sorry we have given you the wrong food, sorry that you have had to sit with someone 's stinky asktray on your table. We flagged someone down to order dessert. Again plates not cleared until dessert arrived. The actual food was ok, hence two stars rather than one, but everything else was simply awful. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told they were out the back and could they help? I explained that I wanted to discuss the poor service and they just said haha sorry .... Over the road in Kensington Gardens there is a little cafe selling wraps and waffles that is where we will go next time. In a prime London spot under the Hilton banner there is no excuse for hiring untrained staff with no idea about how to work as a team and simply not caring about your customers."

"I enjoyed the food and variety at this restaurant. However, some of my pickier family members struggled to find appetizers they liked. The service was welcoming, and the restaurant had a lively atmosphere. Some customers seemed to be a bit rowdy due to alcohol consumption, causing some noise disturbances. Despite this, we were satisfied with both the delicious food and the attentive service provided by the staff."

"I booked a table for 7 people at 7pm online. I received instant online confirmation as well as an email to confirm our booking. When we arrived the staff said they had no record of the booking. The restaurant was only half full so they were able to seat us anyway. It was a Sunday and we had primarily chosen the venue as their Sunday roast sounded good and was served until 9pm. As we sat down we were told they had run out of Yorkshire puddings. Within 10 minutes they came and took the Sunday menu away and said it was now unavailable but we could still order from the standard menu. My mother in law asked if it was possible to swap chips for mashed potatoes with the pie and was told no, the mashed potato portions were already allocated to other meals. At this point we left. The staff did try and seemed sympathetic but were annoyed when we left as they had poured out a couple of the drinks order. The restaurant looked like a good place it was a nice setting but the menu was expensive and other diners could be heard complaining they had been waiting a long time even though they weren't busy. We were understandably really disappointed with the whole experience."

"We live in Dorset but my In-Laws live in Cambridge and we have had several great family celebrations at the Felix Hotel, including a wedding last April. Therefore it seemed the perfect place to take my In-Laws to for Christmas lunch this year. I booked early and a few weeks before Christmas I got a phone call from Reception to say they were e-mailing the Christmas Lunch menu to me for us to make our choices. The menu did not arrive, so I telephoned the hotel and they apologised and said they would re-send it. Again, it did not arrive, so I telephoned again to be told that they had sent it, twice, to the wrong address. On Christmas Day we arrived at the restaurant where a young woman, who was walking around with a piece of paper in her hand, looked at me and said Yes? No greeting, no smile, no Happy Christmas, no welcome. We were shown to our table, where we were basically abandoned. After 20 minutes, having not been approached by a member of staff or been offered bread, water, or anything else I sought out the Barman and asked if we could have our 'Welcome Drink ' (as featured on the menu) which he brought to our table. We were then told that as we had not pre-chosen our menu there would be a delay in serving our lunch. I assured the young woman (the unsmiling one who had showed us to our table) that we had indeed e-mailed our menu choices and she then disappeared to look for the e-mail. When the food finally arrived it was delicious but we were left for long periods between courses and served by a variety of waiting staff who, without exception, were curt and clearly would rather have been elsewhere. Finally, when I went to pay the bill, I was given the wrong bill and the same miserable young woman as before was clearly irritated when I questioned it. I wrote to the Manager to express my disappointment with our Christmas experience but have had no acknowledgement from the hotel. Sadly, we will not be returning and would not reccommend it to anyone."

"This really is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting. The Sunday menu was interesting and of reasonable value and there is a good wine list. My wife choose the ham hock terrine and pork belly; I chose the chicken salad and sardines. I later added a side order of vegetables. The starters were of considerable size, well presented and very tasty. The pork belly was of similar size but there were too few sardines. The vegetables didn't arrive although we did get a side salad. I questioned this and was told that was all there was. It was unfortunate as most of the meal was very enjoyable. The New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was excellent. We will return!"

"I must admit, I’d just waited over 15 minutes without having been acknowledged along with the table next to me at a restaurant. We’d all left and I decided to go next door! Award for best gastropub, I lucked out? The pub was about 80% full, and several tables hadn’t been cleared. Nice layout with ample bar, looking a bit sparse but in a mid century way…cozy small round tables for two and/or more and courteous staff who indicated to me that I had to wait for the maître d’ to return. This man asked me if I minded sitting at the bar but only for one minute if I could give him time to prepare a table. Of course I said yes. He was scrambling to clear and set up tables, and seemed to be the only one on the floor except for a bartender and another gentleman…busy at a computer. He seated a young family who had been waiting, and then continued to clear more tables. Several minutes later, a couple arrived and they were immediately given a table. The single white haired lady got up, and wished the maître d’ a pleasant afternoon and left. Two horrible experiences one after another. What’s happened to polite and courteous… and equitable service in London?? ..not dictated by what you think will be less revenue from a senior lady than a couple… News flash to all you maitre d’s and waitstaff who might think that way: the demographic that has the most discretionary travel income?? Single females and those over 50 start enjoying their hard earned money a bit earlier…. Every customer deserve fair and respectful treatment."

"Completely dissatisfied with my experience at this restaurant. I ordered the Full English Breakfast with tea, and they arrived together as requested. However, the tea was served in a small espresso cup on a saucer, and I had to ask for milk as it came in a milk jar with a lid. The breakfast itself was as advertised, but the plate it was served on was cold, causing the food to quickly cool down. The eggs were undercooked, and the plate was too small for the serving, resulting in the toasted bread falling off. The atmosphere was good, and the initial waitress was adequate, but no one checked in to see if everything was satisfactory. If they had, I would have expressed my dissatisfaction then and there."

However, when we arrived, the staff mentioned that they had no record of the reservation. Despite the restaurant only being half full, they were able to accommodate us. When my mother-in-law asked if she could swap chips for mashed potatoes with her pie, she was told that the mashed potatoes were already designated for other dishes. At this point, we decided to leave. The staff did make an effort and seemed understanding, but appeared annoyed when we left since they had already started on a few drinks. The restaurant appeared nice and had a good atmosphere, but the menu was on the pricier side. Other diners were also heard complaining about long wait times even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the entire experience."

"I really enjoyed the food and the variety of choices offered at this restaurant. However, some of my pickier companions couldn't find anything that appealed to them. The service was friendly and the restaurant was bustling with activity. Some patrons seemed to be more focused on alcohol consumption, which added to the noise level at times. Overall, we were pleased with the food quality, portion sizes, and the attentive service from the staff."

"Really nice venue and hope that things pick up again, as was quiet due to Covid Food and staff were lovely...only gripe was that they disappeared towards the end of meal, and we had to go to the bar to get someone to take the desert order and bring us the bill"

"We went for a baby shower and a 3 course lunch. It was absolutely glorious. Food was excellent as we had the vegetarian option, which was superb. The room was light and airey. The staff were all friendly and helpful.Nothing was too much trouble for them. Just loved it. Thank you. Food drinks: No one left anything, so that can only be good. The vegitarian food was superb, not boring like so many other restaurants. Service: 5"

"First of all wow! Myself and my partner ordered the bacon, pancakes and maple syrup. Let me tell you the portion size was huge (which is amazing value for money! The pancakes were cooked to perfection with bacon layered in between each pancake, and a cute little jug of syrup, they tasted phenomenal ! Neither of us could finish it sadly could easily have one portion between two people and they were so cheap! Maybe a little more of an experience from the staff would be lovely, and it was quite a darkly lit place. I also had the pumpkin spiced latte which was amazing. Definitely recommend"

"We decided to go to the Victoria Inn for a date night and had a very enjoyable time. There was an excellent selection of starters and main courses starters were particularly inventive and our chosen dishes were delicious. Its been a long time since I've had such a good risotto and although the mushrooms were truffled, the flavour was subtle rather than overpowering so full marks to the chef for that. Service was prompt but not over friendly."

"we were already in the solstice bar grill for their Sunday afternoon buffet at numerous places. this time it seemed that it was a chaos with the opentable online bookings. our booking was not recorded and we heard at least three others with the same problem. As a result, the restaurant was underused, so that drinks had to be picked up from the bar, as there was no table service. the waitress told us that the employee reflected the fact that the manager had not met the online bookings so that the general meeting was significantly higher than expected. in general the fry is good."

"I would say having been coming to the Pancake Place over the last 10 years, once every other month, it has sadly went very badly down hill. My wife and I visited with our 12 year old daughter. On arrival we were seated quickly and our drinks order taken within a few minutes. We received our drinks 2 diet pepsi which were not fizzy (clearly issue with draft) and a smoothie which was very tasty and refreshing. There were maybe about 4 or 5 tables occupied, so for a lunchtime I thought why is it so quet . Anyway, my wife and daughter both ordered the macaroni and I ordered the fish and chips. We received our food within about 5 6 mins which made me question that alot of the food must have just been simply reheated! The macaroni was insipid and lacked seasoning and my fish was about half the size of the normal portion I was used to getting. I questioned this with the server and he went to the kitchen only to return to advise that they can 't control the size of the portions they receive from their supplier!? The fish was definitely small enough to be a child 's portion. I requested why don 't they just give me an extra portion of the fish to which he replied. Sorry can 't do that but we can remove the meal from your bill . They did ask if I would like an alternative from the menu but by this point my wife and daughter had already eaten half of their meal so I wasn 't willing to make them wait any longer. In addition to this we were not given any cutlery until after we were served our food. Both my wife and daughter said they did not enjoy their food but it was edible. I returned my plate to the kitchen and received a credit off the bill. Sorry but £12 for what was basically a kids portion of fish, a handful of chips and a rotten looking side salad, it is very overpriced for what you get. None of us will be returning here. Quite sad really given it was always such a friendly, busy and quality cafe. Owners please do better!"

"We dined on the Saturday evening 4 days before Valentine's day and thought it would be busy. There were only two other couples in the restaurant so there was very little atmosphere or ambience. The service was excellent. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We had 3 courses from a fixed menu with a good choice of locally sourced produce. My husband had the fish which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had the fillet steak (rare) which melted in my mouth. Overall the price we paid including drinks was very good value for a wonderful meal."

"we have booked to go to this restaurant when we were on vacation as the menu looked very good. Unfortunately, when the taxi tried to fall, the location was on the map in the did a residential street, and when we had to determine the restaurant, it is location we were not only informed that the map was wrong, but in the did they were not even open in the januar. we were told that this was not the fault of the restaurant, but in the did open table was fault as they should remove the list for the month. They don't believe everything they see on the internet. you were warned!"
