"Delightful Dotties! I went to this amazing Tea House in Carshalton today at 3:30. I think this Tea House is an up and coming one, it was absolutely lovely and so much better than I imagined. The staff were absolutely brilliant, the customer service was definitely a cut above. The waitress noticing we were struggling with making a decision started to help us narrow down our options by asking questions like hot or cold and when we got near a choice she made a recommendation. She was so friendly and clearly enjoyed working where she was as did the other genuinely smiley staff. The food was great. We had scones, tea (a special herbal blend), a cappuccino and a lemon drizzle cake. The cake and scones were light, fluffy and full of flavour. My tea was bursting with flavour. Presentation of our food wasn't novel, there are many vintage tea shops presenting baked goods on china. However, we did see presentation of other food, such as their avocado on toast which weirdly had a really playful vibe to it. The overall feel of the place was a 10/10 for me, it was well styled and there was a huge attention to detail evident. Love has been poured into the place from the well chose decor to the fab vintage vibe playlist you just cant help sing along to. The staff have obviously been chosen for their ability to add to the vibe of the place, all seemingly playful, smiley, energetic and knowledgeable about the food. I utterly loved it! Special thanks to our smiley waitress today and hats off to your customer service skills."

"Absolutely wonderful. This was our first trip to Egypt and we celebrated this occasion by dining at Sabaya on our first night in Cairo. Since it was Ramadan, we chose this restaurant particularly since they served a traditional Iftar meal (which ends the daily fast). Upon arrival, we were greeted with warmth and grace and shown to our table for what turned out to be a fabulous evening. We experienced tastes we hadn't had before .. one dish was more flavorful than the other. Portions were very large and, in fact, there was enough food for at least one more person. Service was impeccable .. attentive, yet unobtrusive. We started with complimentary juices (the date and apricot nectars were sweet and delicious and re-filled upon request). The menu included a wide variety of traditional Egyptian food, including grilled meats, vegetables, rice, bread, salad, hummus and so on and so on. The meal ended with a selection of delicious desserts. Throughout the meal, which lasted several hours, our gracious server check in with us to see how we were enjoying our meal and whether we needed anything. The restaurant's decor is beautiful, tables are large and there is space between tables (not always the case). This allowed for a quiet and private atmosphere which we really appreciated. As a matter of fact, we enjoyed Sabaya so much that we made an additional reservation for our last night in Cairo. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant."

"Secret Garden Cafe is a vegetarian cafe, adjoining a health food shop, with a lovely walled garden for sitting out in the sunny weather. The menu has vegan options, a specials board and there was a good selection of vegan cupcakes on the counter. I called in for breakfast with hubby and we both chose the vegan pancakes served with banana and maple syrup. I took some yogurt and cinnamon with me, although drizzled with maple syrup, the pancakes did not need it. The pancakes were so light and fluffy, I was quite jealous as mine are always quite dense, so I will be stealing chef's secret of using frothed Oatly barista oat milk to make the batter. The pancakes were absolutely scrumptious, with warm maple syrup, banana and two large decaf Americano coffees, making a perfect to start the weekend. Called again for lunch and we ordered sandwiches off the Christmas menu, A Bit Of Christmas which was no pigs in blanket, stuffing sprouts on a toastie with a pot of vegan gravy and Christmas in New York pastrami cheese sandwich. They were scrumptious, good sized portions full of flavour and I will be trying to make these at home. We had a quick chat with chef Louis and thanked him for the sandwiches, he is also famous for the best ever vegan carrot cake. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Secret Garden Cafe and will definitely again when next in Clitheroe. Updated from previous review on 2020-09-12"
