"We visited Newtown Stewart for the day and decided to stop at this restaurant for lunch, attracted by its varied menu suitable for 4 adults and 3 children, including a 2-year-old. Upon arrival, the member of staff who served us (a young lady with dark hair) was exceptional. She took our orders and accommodated the needs of our children. The food that was served was excellent, enjoyed by everyone at the table. However, when we ran out of mayo and requested water for one of the boys who had a milkshake, a different member of staff (a blonde) exhibited rude behavior. She seemed annoyed when asked for mayo, and even rolled her eyes when we asked for water. This kind of attitude and behavior towards customers is unacceptable. It was disappointing that one staff member's demeanor marred an otherwise pleasant dining experience. Nonetheless, we appreciate the excellent service provided by the young lady who initially served us. She was a credit to the restaurant."

While the restaurant may appear to be just another diner, the quality of the food is outstanding and the service is efficient and friendly. The value for money is exceptional.

On a visit to Newton Stewart decided to stop in here for some food. Restaurant is nice, clean and well kept. Ordered our food and drinks, waitress very friendly. However couple of issues with food, steak pie contained mushrooms which menu didn't state, and i then discovered mushrooms in the lasagne! Neither my hubby or i like mushrooms, so wasn't ideal, however minus the mushrooms the food was lovely. Kids meals were good. Very reasonably priced. View menu

The food at this restaurant is excellent and made to order. They have a large menu, as well as options for kids and seniors. However, they need to improve their cleaning practices, as there was food found on the laminated menus and salt and pepper pots. It would also be good if they cleaned their plastic tablecloths and table mats more thoroughly, as drinking glasses were placed upside down on them. Despite this, the food is great and reasonably priced.

Restaurant seems clean and staff were friendly and helpful. There appear to be several menus but we decided to order from the Main Menu but apparently there is a senior citizens menu with smaller portions. There is also a kids menu. Our friends had eaten here recently and said it was very good but on our visit we found the battered fish was a bit greasy because the batter had not stuck to the fish during cooking. The scampi was obviously straight from the freezer. Gammon steak was alright but not as good as on a previous occasion. Meals are offered with either salad or a selection of vegetables. Most of us chose vegetables but found they were overcooked and soggy. We enjoyed our tea to follo...

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."
