"We visited today and glad we had booked! We received a very warm greeting at the door and were shown to a good sized table with large comfortable chairs. Even though the beamed ceilings are low it did not feel claustrophobic. The decor is tasteful, and everywhere was clean and neat. The tables are not too close to each other and positioned so that it didn’t feel like a canteen. We were greeted warmly by a lady who took our drinks order. These arrived swiftly. Our food order was taken promptly and we were impressed that she checked for any allergies first. We went for the roast with a trio of meats. There were chicken, pork and beef. Each of these were cooked to absolute perfection. Homemade Yorkshires was a welcome change compared to most pubs. Large, crisp and light. The crackling, potatoes, stuffing, and roasted veg were all delicious. They were cooked to perfection and so well seasoned that nothing needed salt or pepper adding. We ordered the trio of veg and potatoes to share, because they sounded so delicious (and they were) but we probably didn’t need to. The BEST Dauphinoise we’ve ever had! Bottomless gravy was another welcome change. Our very friendly, efficient and helpful waitress Aimee checked back on us swiftly and then regularly. Everything was just perfect with the main course, and despite feeling full we forced down the trio of desserts to share, and the too tempting Baileys Chocolate Martini! The ambience was perfect too. No loud music or chairs scraping, due to carpets. All of the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there and our waitress Aimee is a credit to the business. (We were the party with the nippy dog sorry). The plate of treats for our dog was a lovely touch too. We have already booked for the very reasonably priced Christmas meal. If it’s this good on a busy day then we are very confident for our next visit. Highly recommended."

"on Thursday 23 6 22 visited the pough inn, eynsford, kent with my wife about 1315 clock to 1532 clock. in this time of visit the atmosphere calmly relaxed in the inn, even no problems with the parking space in the disabled bay remember their vehicle registration at the bar inn at the arrival recording! disabled entrance, toilet facilities also here. a historical inn with a historical architecture that is part of the historic village of eynsford is certainly one of the most famous picturesque villages not only in kent england, but the whole of the U.K. the beautiful upper achievements of the river darent and its famous ford crossing are always an attraction for many visitors in the heart of the village along riverside. the plough inn is conveniently located next to the river bank and awaits them with friendly, friendly and friendly staff to offer them a menu to be proud. a fairly large parking space in the spaces, but consider that this inn in where its location can be very busy due to its popularity. like most pub, gastro-pub restaurants, depending on season, day of week, daytime, it would probably be advisable to check before! but of course, they can have luck, only show up casually without a reservation, especially on a weekday. the general interieur very chic. the decor inside is a blend of smooth earthy colors to fit the walls with attractive presented furniture. table and chair arrangements are properly spaced apart, there is also an area in the upper floor. warm modern lighting and lamps, and a good long bar. very clean and hygienic round, I found. eating is very good to choose a good choice of British and Mediterranean European dishes on all courses. especially for me unforgettable is the sweet dessert! my wife and I visited here about 20 years ago, and I always remembered one of the best cheesecake I had ever eaten. this time I had the chocolate trio cheesecake, I recommend! also at this opportunity I had pan fried scallops for beginners, and the main a delicious king prawn crab chorizo linguine...done too perfection in my view!. only a small part, it seemed to lack quantity, but hey, made sure for it in quality. I could just have eaten another main dish....hope this note free at least to the chef and catering staff! Maybe not the fastest table service, but for me, that does not play any role in a beautiful relaxing inn where the time can drift wonderfully. perfect ideal for couples to hug their time here, ideal for a steady walk along the river banks and village. Yes, my wife and I will return at a later time. and yes, I personally give this wonderful well remembered inn my praise with an assessment of a1, 10 10 10. a pleasure to be here, enjoyed chat with the staff. a lot of luck with future hospitality and use. chris"

"There were 5 people In our group for lunch, 2 vegans, 2 veggies and an omni. 4 of us actually ordered from the vegan menu and 1 ordered a vegetarian dish. My main issue was that 2 of us (myself being vegan and the omni in the group! ordered the flat bread from the vegan menu it didn’t advertise coming with chips but when we ordered our waiter asked us which chips we would prefer so we both asked for sweet potato fries. When the fries came out they had cheese on them (despite us clearly ordering from the separate vegan menu . I’m not sure if this was an error on the waiter or the kitchen’s part but the waiter apologised. I shared the fries with one of the vegetarians in the group so I just avoided any that had cheese on them, however I’m now wondering whether actually they were not cooked in a separate fryer and this is why they weren’t on the vegan menu!? In terms of staff knowledge I was also disappointed when I asked what type of plant based burger it was on the vegan menu (I.e. meat substitute or bean based etc and our waiter didn’t know or really seem to understand the question (and didn’t offer to find out . That’s why I chose the flat bread instead and then had the cheese issue! My second main issue is that the food was pretty average especially considering the price. 3 of us had the vegan chocolate tart advertised as coming with fresh berries. (2 of us originally ordered the treacle tart which was sold out, fair enough . However 2 of us can’t eat strawberries so asked for the tart without them, expecting other berries instead, however the only berry on the third tart was a solitary diced strawberry! The tart was also pretty small considering it didn’t come with any accompaniment but cost £6.25! Overall it’s great they’re trying with a vegan menu but my view is that they must try harder!"

"Took my wife with kids for her 50th birthday party after the place has been refurbished. My wife and I had starters and asked for our kids meals to come at the same time. Both kids ordered sausages and mash one asked for no gravy and the other asked could it be in a separate dish just in case she did not like it. The waiter assured us it came separate. Two meals came one had the gravy poured all over it, that is not served separate as asked for and confirmed by the waiter. So my daughter had to wait for the right meal to come. Allowing for the fact they were kids meal to serve only one sausage is ridiculously mean. The waiter later explained he made a mistake when taking the order so we accepted it as he was a nice guy. I had carrot and coriander soup. It was tasty and a fair portion. My wife had whipped goats cheese and it was an embarrassing portion. Absolutely tiny amount of goats cheese. We then waited circa 50 mins for our mains to come. I had the fig roast, which was very tasty but the sprouts weren’t cooked. My wife had the sea bass fillets which again was nice but the potatoes were not properly cooked. Deserts were nice and tasty. Overall okay but they must do much better. We never put quantity over quality but the portions were just too miserable, the service slow and the chef should not send out vegetables not cooked properly especially when you wait so long for your main course. Won’t rush back"
