"I have looked at this restaurant for years and always thought a tiny little steakhouse in the middle of Paisley can't be that good. Well all I can say is I was wrong very wrong. Anyone that has read any of my other reviews will know I don't give 5 stars easily and I can be and usually am brutally honest. So when I say I loved this place and it is by far my new favourite restaurant by a country mile. Now it's not the easiest place to park or find your first time. And you would be forgiven for looking from the outside and thinking its tiny it's going to be cramped and hurried. But it is worth any hassle you have parking which believe me 2 mins after walking in you have forgotten about. The welcome from the staff was warm and sincere. Tha character of the building is like eating in your Grans kitchen it's brilliant. The menu is big enough to offer a wide enough choice but not to big that you can't decide. The service was excellent from start to finish and the food was amazing. I had the blackened garlic pork chop. And it was just fabulous and a really good size of dish. In fact it was so good I could have asked for 1 on its own as a dessert. I thought the balance of seasoning was spot on perfect. In fact it was so good I actually stopped writing there to enjoy the memory of it. Do not miss this place if your looking for somewhere to eat in Paisley, yes it's tucked away, yes parking can be an issue, yes it's small and you really should book in advance BUT any of these perceived downsides are worth it for the fabulous time the comes with them. Book a table I promise you will not regret it."

"We were visiting the area from Edinburgh for my birthday, and had been to Porky’s before and wanted to visit again. We were travelling with our dog so I phoned ahead and asked if they’d allow the dog into the restaurant to which the response was it was fine as long as he was quiet, and that whoever answered the phone said they had discussed it with the manager. We drove half an hour to get there and were looking forward to our meal however when we arrived we were met with hostility. No one smiled or welcomed us the staff including the manager looked at our Labrador with disdain. I explained that I’d phoned ahead and whoever answered the phone had said that we could bring our dog with us. The manager then very abruptly said “is it quiet” and I explained that he is quiet and that I’d confirmed this during the phone call. The manager then replied in a rude, sarcastic tone. At this point I decided that we were leaving and we would not be parting with our money to be treated in such a manner. If they’re not dog friendly (which they clearly aren’t) then they need to say so. The way they were acting was as though they’d be doing us a massive favour by letting the dog in. We won’t return and will take our money elsewhere. The manager needs to consider how his attitude can come across. It’s absolutely fine to not allow dogs dog owners will go somewhere else, but don’t be rude and disrespectful to customers. The place was absolutely dead with staff like this I can’t say I’m surprised."
