"What can I say. What a amazing find. We stayed here for 2 night last weekend (21st Feb 2020) and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. The room was fantastic, comfortable bed, room was well equipped with kettle and TV, bathroom was clean and tidy and was well stocked with toiletries. The staff behind the bar and restaurant were very friendly and greeted us with such a warm welcome, making us feel like part of the local community. In fact the whole atmosphere in the bar was great, usually in bars people keep themselves to themselves, but we were invited to join a group, and was never made to feel out of place. The food at the Fat Fox was above good, the breakfast we had each morning was freshly cooked, and even had the choice of different style eggs (fried or poached) the breakfast was very filling, so much so, that when we went out for the day, we never really wanted any lunch. The menu for the evening meal was very well thought out. We decided to go for a main and a dessert, we both went for the Fat Fox cheese burger for main, and Creme Brûlée and fruit crumble for dessert. All the food was packed with flavour, and the presentation was spot on. If I could give more than 5 stars I would, I am so glad we found this little gem, and being 30 mins from Oxford, makes it an ideal countryside retreat for your visit."

Good Sunday roast enjoyed and reasonably priced. Worth a visit to this Oxfordshire pub. Plenty of space and a cosy real fire.

Taking a break on a long journey we stopped off for Sunday Lunch . We were seated in an empty dining room so my review is based purely on the food and service .

A beautiful pub and accommodation with the best breakfast I have had in a long time. Beautiful village, friendly locals and picturesque views. I would recommend staying here.

Only a few in. No atmosphere. Had Fish chips but no salad or peas, just nothing else. Chips so crispy all over done. Burger was juicy good but overdone chips. Very disappointing

In tough times the staff here served up a delicious Sunday roast outside. Very helpful , cheery, polite and patient. Well done to all the team and good luck with your indoor reopening.

Really lovely gastropub. The decor has a querky charm. The staff very friendly, the owner actually came out and introduced himself. The Chicken Tarragon was absolutely amazing! Would definitely recommend.

Having driven for ages we stopped here for a quick bite. A little late but the staff were more than accommodating. The menu over all looked great but I have to say the French onion soup was a real show stopper, everything else was amazing too. Great service, lovely staff. We will.be back and soon.

"We usually love coming to Cafe Rouge in Henley, always a treat for us and we are always looking forward to it. However the most recent visit was awful and it’s been going downhill over our last coupes of visits. We booked a table for my father in laws birthday. Upon being seated, we were informed that 3 of the main course dishes were unavailable.. pretty much half of the ‘mains’ options. We don’t come to Cafe Rouge for Burgers or salad! We opted for 3 portions of Mussels as had them here before and they’re very good! Mother in law just had pate as there was nothing else she wanted. These were possibly the worst mussels we’ve ever had. You could tell they weren’t fresh (cooked from frozen for sure) and there was barely any sauce in the pot! Usually they are flavourful and abundant in sauce! No check back was performed by the manager on duty..it was a quiet Monday so wasn’t exactly run off his feet. So we couldn’t alert him. Even upon clearing we weren’t ask how our meal was! Just asked if we had finished. We decided to mention they were awful to which the manager told us he would inform the kitchen. When he came back to finish clearing, my partner asked if they were frozen or fresh mussels, to which the manager replied yes, they are frozen. Wasn’t expecting that but you could totally tell! They tasted like cardboard! We had a coffee and a pudding and to be fair to the manager he didn’t charge us for one portion of mussels and the coffees we ordered. The Bill was certainly not worth what we had. Didn’t leave a tip, which we never normally do, but the service was non existent. Manager was more interested in what was on his phone. Won’t be rushing back"
