"Visiting for the 5th time it is still as good as the first time. We have always been for lunch and have trouble choosing dishes from the varied menu. Our favourites are the meatballs and chicken scewers from the meze menu. Lovely authentic ascetics and great atmosphere. Have had several different members of staff serve us and they have all been knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Looking forward to our next visit the next time we are in Exeter. Thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant do not give it a miss...."

Superb service and atmosphere. Cosy without being cramped. Food wow! Loved it, normally don't do spicy food, but so good.

More walking around Exeter - we were planning to go to a Thai restaurant but we saw this place nearly next door - the two places are in the Three Gables,

Really lovely food and service. We went for 6 mezze dishes with a bottle of house wine. All of the dishes were delicious. The food arrived quickly and the place had a nice ambiance. View menu

We visited Al Farid whilst working in Exeter and now make a point to revisit every time we are in the city. Amazing food that is excellent quality on every visit and brilliant, friendly service. We can’t thank Jacob enough for such great service whenever we visit. We can’t recommend Al Farid highly enough!

What a gem of a restaurant. Authentic Middle Eastern food. A fusion of Moroccan, Persian and Lebanese cuisines. The lamb tagline and jujeh kebab were incredible. As were the mezzes. The fig and goats cheese filo was amazing. Service was great. Shannon was so attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend this restaurant. View menu

Booked here solely based on menu and internal pics alone- and wasn’t disappointed. Really authentic Moroccan feel inside , lovely and warm and a great atmosphere. Opted for the 6+ Meze menu option and was amazed at the selection, tastes and endless supply of unique dishes. Would thoroughly recommend- huge thanks to the welcoming and attentive staff

This place is so warm and welcoming, the staff are caring and quick to your needs and are very attentive to any questions or requests you have, their menu covers a wide variety of any dietary needs you may have which is brilliant. The management keep the place in tip top shape and are often in to meet customers. Over all amazing food and great atmosphere, a nice journey through Moroccan cuisine

"Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky . When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas. The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered. As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”. He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right. It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier. I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone. I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional. I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager. Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy. He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered! Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas. I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order. Peace be with you! Dietary restrictions You cannot trust this place to make your gluten free as ordered and they won’t remake it if they made it wrong and just say I have to trust my staff. Very Poor attitude from an owner and a bit arrogant! Customers don’t appear to be important and must be lying if they get an order wrong."
