Amigos Mexican Kitchen

Excellent food as always, I had fajitas and my wife had quasidillas. I usually have lamb chops which are highly recommended but the fajitas were better. More people need to like this restaurant as it is a hidden gem.

We tried the new Indian/Mexican menu for the first time. It was brilliant even better than before and I didn't think that was possible. We recommend the Butter Chicken Masala and Lamb Barbacoa followed by chocolate brownie and Lotus Crumble. This is 5 STAR in S2, Gorgeous food.

My family had a bad experience. On arrival, not welcomed and just pointed out towards the table in dry and frosty behavior. The food was nice apart from Deseret. When we inform the quality of dessert to the counter, the person (Lad) was not happy. Overall, the experience was quite bad. View menu

The best Enchiladas in Sheffield. The chicken pabolanos is worth trying too. Been coming here for years, you can bring your own bottle of wine for the table and the atmosphere is warming. Went again for a friend's 40th yesterday and the treatment was 5 star. I only wish they delivered to my home address

Highly recommended. Visited Friday night myself husband and 3 teenage girls. My husband is coeliac and wanted corn tacos. Even though they were not on the menu the kitchen was happy to make it. The waitress was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us all. Food was fabulous, big portions and we will definitely return.

The only thing which is remotely Mexican about this restaurant is the display of sombreros on the walls. Really cold restaurant and we were shivering for the duration of the meal. Had to wait ages for the food to be served, which was luke-warm and not remotely Mexican tasting. The music had no links to any remotely Hispanic sounds. Not somewhere I would return. View menu

Really disappointed with both service and food. Been wanting to try this place for a long time and wish i’d never bothered. Popped in to order a takeout and the service was awful. When we walked through the door a bloke shouted at us from behind the bar instead of coming to great us, we then sat for a while before anyone bothered to bring us a menu and then they took 50 minutes to prepare the food. We ordered burritos and naked burritos and nothing was particularly nice, fresh or in anyway authentic.

I strongly suspect that the chefs would struggle to find Mexico on a map, never mind be able to recognise Mexican cuisine. Really, really disappointing. We has some standard easy dishes, and they were a mess. Processed, not fresh, largely tasteless, the only flavour was chilli powder. The service was very lacking and needed constant chasing, the decor is tired, half the toilets are out of commission and the heating is not up to the job. The whole place feels like it is on its last legs. It really is time it was closed.

I discovered Amigos about three years ago and have eaten there or taken food away on several occasions. I loved the food. After a break of about a year, I went in yesterday and was quite disappointed: the food is completely different from what I remember, unremarkable and very disappointing. I have had better taste and flavours in frozen meals from Farmfoods. Clearly, the kitchen staff (I wouldn't go as far as to call them chefs! have changed but sadly, all good things about the food that I remember and felt attracted to, have gone too.
