"Aubaine Hampstead is a local restaurant we have been to for breakfast a few times. Its well located, nice and simple decor and the staff are friendly. Unfortunately, the service is extremely slow, we waited for 40-50 minutes between our first and Second course. The food presentation was terrible and lacked flavour. I ordered the Seared Beef with Balsamic Tomato Tart Tatin. This came as a floppy uncooked circular Puff pastry which had no puff layers at all. However the Sear beef was good. The main course for 2 out of our 3 diners was returned after tasting. The third diner of our party waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for their main course. To add insult to injury, the table was dirty with old food on the under surface and stuck to one diners clothing."

Nice little cafe/ bistro. Does not feel like it is part of a chain. Great location and really nice staff.

Very good food, service and ambience! Although we were late the waiters have accommodated us immediately! Thanks for a lovely brunch!

Enjoyed daughter's 16th birthday brunch at Aubaine, Hampstead as a family. Warm, friendly service and absolutely delicious food. Will definitely be visiting again soon!

We had our wedding anniversary dinner there in October 2015. They were really friendly but not in your face. They offered us an anniversary cake at the end of the meal to help us celebrate. View menu

Convenient meeting place for friends so gave it a go. Service friendly but not very experienced. Food OK but not very special or memorable. Prices average. So in all its hard to see how this chain differentiates itself from all the rest.

Had lunch there with family; service was indifferent to unfriendly; waited 45 minutes for the food; starter (calamaris was excellent, albeit a little too hot; mains platter was lamentable: limp prociutto, ice cold vegetables, olives from the tin and dodgy(? mozzarella; in fairness, they left the mains off the bill after my complaints. However, had major intestinal problems in the evening. Not going there again.

The service at this restaurant was extremely slow during our Sunday brunch visit. We waited for over 30 minutes for our drinks, which only arrived after we had to inquire about them. The food was also slow to come out, and all the eggs were overcooked. The staff were friendly but not very efficient, and it seemed like both the staff and the kitchen were having a bad day. We had high hopes for our meal, but unfortunately, they were not met. View menu

The restaurant was too expensive and had a slightly arrogant atmosphere. It didn't help that it was located next to Cote, which offers better value and a more pleasant atmosphere. The wine list was pricey for what it offered, and the menu was the same. Overall, this restaurant is just another upscale chain with nothing unique to set it apart from competitors like Cote, Giraffe, Cafe Rouge, and Carluccio's. It's likely that it won't last long in Hampstead.

One of our group members recommended Aubaine in Selfridges, so we decided to try out this Hampstead restaurant for breakfast on a cold Saturday morning in October. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated downstairs with our baby. We ordered scrambled egg and salmon, poached egg with avocado on seeded toast, tea, fresh orange juice, pain au raisin, and water. The food looked good, but the poached eggs were both overcooked and the toast was hard. The total bill came to £46.63 with a service charge. Overall, our breakfast experience was disappointing, and it has deterred me from trying this place for lunch or dinner. My rating is a generous three out of five.

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
