"We stopped by this cozy little pub while passing through, and although they didn't have food available due to a new chef starting in March, we enjoyed some drinks. The bar was neat and nicely decorated, with a friendly lady serving us on her first day. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a real fire adding to the charm. The tables and seating were well-kept, and it appeared that the place had recently been painted throughout. The toilets were clean, and they offered a good selection of real ales. We look forward to returning when the kitchen reopens to try the food, as we believe this place will only get better and busier."

See title. My wife ate like a horse, including finishing my chips. She then had a dessert. The greedy little minx. Much merriment when the table next to us spilt their drink.

We had dinner and a few drinks to celebrate a family get together. The food was plentiful and nicely presented. The children meal size was sensible. A busy pub with very attentive staff. Worth a visit.

We were staying up the road and the Pub was recommended in our info folder. Well we certainly can see why. The pub staff were so welcoming, the food amazing and very good value for money. Shame we are not here longer. Thank you. View menu

We popped in for lunch on a Saturday whilst we were staying in the area. Friendly and welcoming staff (current Covid regulations were clearly being followed) great service and lovely food at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

We decided to stop by on a whim and inquired about food availability. They were offering a Sunday roast with a variety of meats to choose from. The service and the food were both excellent, and we highly recommend this restaurant for great food at a great price!

I came here for dinner, so that is what my rating reflects. It’s a nice enough pub with a reasonable selection of beers, but the kitchen staff had no idea how to cook a steak. It was grey and unseasoned; clearly the grill was not hot enough to start. They seemed to try to compensate the quality with quantity the blue cheese sauce I ordered came in a jug that must have had half a pint of the stuff. View menu

Came here after getting stuck on the A629 for over an hour. We were pleased they had a ramp for mums wheelchair. This is true Yorkshire hospitality. They couldn't do enough for us. They cheered us up and fed us after a fraught time. We had a lovely meal, they looked after my mum above beyond, and the pint of Timothy Taylor was really good too. Thankyou so much. (Toilets for ladies are not disabled friendly, but it is an old pub)

I was recommended this pub for dinner by the owner of a nearby B&B, as it was the only option in the village on a Sunday evening. The pub was a bit busy (as expected for a Sunday), but I had no trouble finding a free table. When the waiter brought me the menu, a chef also approached and informed me that they had run out of lamb, but he could prepare fresh beef with sides instead. The beef with sauce, Yorkshire pudding, baked potatoes, and boiled vegetables were delicious. As a foreigner, dining at this pub gave me a taste of the atmosphere in the English countryside on a Sunday evening.
