Bottlescrue - Menu

The location is fantastic, and there is plenty of room for a business meeting. The black pudding scotch egg was delicious.

Despite booking a table through OpenTable and receiving a confirmation, our reservation was denied by the restaurant claiming they were at full capacity. They suggested that the booking should not have been allowed through the website.

Booked a month ahead for my client. Received several booking confirmations including one the day before. The restaurant denied all knowledge of the booking and then when presented with the booking confirmation said they don't use Open Table or similar booking services. Wouldn't honour the booking. Lunch for four. We were given a private space just off the main bar/restaurant area although hadn't requested it, which was nice. It was quiet for a Thursday lunchtime, I'd say, although that suited the situation as it was a business lunch Service was prompt and food was decent enough. I'm a risotto anorak and would give their risotto a 7-8/10. Would go again if in the area as it was pretty decent value for money.

Did we enjoy our experience at the Bottlescrue? NO!!! A thousand times No! The food was way too salty and overpriced. The service was painfully slow and the manager was unnecessarily rude and aggressive. And if you're allergic to fish, don't have the Caesar salad it's not mentioned on the menu that it contains fish. The whole experience was upsetting and not only would I not go back, but I'm am certainly not recommending it to anyone.

I made reservations for business dinner and went for 2 courses menu with a starter and fish. starter: black pudding scotch ei and pumpkin suppe was great! the plaice (main course) was completely unacceptable. they served twice and both males the fish was still raw, especially in the middle bit, if blood still visible when they cut through. I was totally embarrassed before my client. I hope the restaurant manager should visit her fish again if they should be on the menu. View menu

I wanted to share lunch with my son on his birthday and chose Bottlescrue because of its proximity to his office. Unfortunately he only gets one hour. I arrived early and ordered for both of us: one fish and chips , one rib eye steak cooked blue. The young waiter was helpful and keen to achieve our need for speedy service and food delivery. The food was good and the steak was done to perfection Regrettably there was only time for one course I was envious of the many businessmen settling down for a long lunch but it delivered on all fronts.

I reserved a table for a business lunch and opted for the 2-course set menu, choosing a starter and fish dish. The black pudding scotch egg and pumpkin soup for the starter were delicious! However, I was extremely disappointed with the main course, the plaice. The fish was served twice and both times it was still raw, particularly in the center where you could see blood when cutting through it. This was an embarrassing experience in front of my client. I strongly suggest that the restaurant manager reviews the fish dish before including it on the menu again.

I dined here with a friend, just as a catch up dinner. The food was lovely but the service really let it down. We were not given the menu as described on the offer so just ordered off the main menu and then questioned the 2 course deal after with the manager as she was walking past. She made a comment that the waiters basically keep forgetting to put the 2 or 3 course deal menu's out, which to me highlighted the bad service we got! She was very kind and offered to either take the starters off or a glass of champagne for free. I am really glad we opted for the starters being taken off as we went into the bathrooms as we were leaving and discovered that we should have gotten the glass of champ... View menu
