"Having read the reviews I booked Boys Hall to celebrate a friend's birthday. It took 3 attempts to arrange the visit as it was always fully booked, which I hoped was a good sign. However, when we arrived we were the second table of 2...for that afternoon. There was a CD playing which helped give some background noise to an otherwise muted room. Marcus was very welcoming and attentive and seemed to listen to our comments about the food at the end of the afternoon. We were disappointed that the sandwiches were made of thick packaged white bread, although the fillings were fine; the scones did not taste home-made, surely a given for afternoon tea; there was no choice of teas or coffees and the cake was awful. There were 3 different flavours but they looked exactly the same sliced rectangles that tasted of chemicals. Come on guys! You have a lovely setting with beautiful gardens but you need to be at least as good as everyone else if you want to compete. When I go out I expect to have food that is better than I could make myself because I am not a trained cook. Unfortunately this experience did not live up to my expectations and I therefore cannot recommend it."

I celebrated my 60th with family and friends at Boys Hall, nothing was too much trouble the champagne reception with strawberry shortcakes followed by the most amazing High Tea. All the sandwiches were freshly made and delicious, cakes were homemade by their excellent chef. It...was a perfect day in lovely surrounding blessed with excellent weather we ate at beautifully laid table on the front lawn, and were also able to see inside the beautiful Jacobean Manor. that is the most amazing house! eight couples spent a glorious weekend in the boys hall and celebrated my 50th birthday. the house was the perfect place for our murder mystery evening in the 1920s and the pub was the production. we all had so much fun and the bedroom, all with personal en-suite, were absolutely perfect and extremely comfortable. I can no longer praise this house and the wonderful owners were so helpful and welcoming. I can't think of a single negatiw and would like to stay here again. really, really, wonderful.

we were happy enough to be invited here ende juli 2016 to a high time of a friend. it is the most beautiful location all the plots are well maintained, the outer of the house is stunning (and for our day, covered with blossoms of...Breteria) the interieur is just as beautiful. Above all, I would have to praise the staff that did not stop the whole day to let the ceremony, the eating and the party run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. the food was delicious and the evening buffet wonderful. I would not recommend this place for every special day.

My stepdaughter booked an afternoon tea for her mother (my Mrs) to celebrate Mother's Day. What a success it was! The grounds are spectacular and invite one to take as many pictures as possible. We were warmly welcomed by Marcus and Daniel who provided exceptional...service throughout our visit. It's rare to come across such pleasant and helpful customer service this day and age. Once we arrived we asked if it was possible to upgrade the tea to one with Champagne. While some establishments would scoff at our request, at Boys Hall they were more than pleased to oblige. When the three tiers of sandwiches, scones and cake were brought out it looked manageable but I can assure you it's quite a t... View menu

we just celebrated our high time in boys hall manor, it could not have been better! the historical environment is simply beautiful, with first class service. marcus, daniel and the team pulled out all the stations and made sure everything went smoothly. The...planning up to the present time was thorough with helpful advice. they have received all our desires that were many and varied. the high-time breakfast was delicious and a credit to steve the chef. the party, consisting of braut, brautjungfern and the mother of the braut, spent the night before the hotel and had a wonderful meal and a relaxed start to the whole event. the guests commented on the fabulous location, with their attractive...

My wife and I arranged an Afternoon Tea for my sister as a surprise gift for her 50th birthday at Boys Hall. As this was a special occasion we booked our group of seven guests earlier in August this year. We approached Marcus the owner...with a list of special dietary requirements which didn't seem to phase him at all and were all fulfilled on the day. Boys Hall is an amazing historic building covered in wisteria. The gardens are memorizing and ideal for photographs. We were warmly welcomed by Marcus who lead us to our table. We had our own room with the table set in the middle, a bay window and an enormous log fire for those cold days. From the moment we arrived Marcus treated us with utmost...

"Our excitement to see this café open allowed us an opportunity for some needed refreshment . Oh a cup of tea and a slice of cake or a little available small snack was what we needed . We were told by an employee sit down we come to you , so we did .. Another staff member standing behind the counter looked over and frumpy look called the cook who had the same frumpy look and went back to cooking , We : waited , waited , waited , waited and saw the frumpy counter woman still in the same spot , we waited and waited then left , maybe she was glued to the floor . We looked left and saw a pub named the Pheasant, oh drink and food , renewed enthusiasm and excitement we entered to staff who couldn 't do enough, so professional and warrants praise and a revisit , after a while we left and waited outside for our taxi , looking over we saw the cafe closed , ahhhhh it all came together and understanding that we was an inconvenience to the café as they was closing in half an hour after our visit , How long would it have taken to make a cup of tea for two? , us drink it , then how long would it have taken them to wash up the cups ? , they still would have twenty minutes for the woman to be unglued, our first impressions were of a cafe with many seats and a welcoming atmosphere, the woman employee sitting at the front table working was professional and welcoming the tables were clean and we kept our excitement as we waited , our excitement and enthusiasm faded, we left happily for the woman glued to the floor , we are appreciating the effort of the lady at the table who was seriously let down by the others , thank you for your efforts , apart from her professional customer service skills our Eureka moment to see the café open wasn 't to last , sorry to the staff member at the table I 'm very sure the service we had wouldn 't have been what you would have given , this review seems strong in tone but it 's our experience in here that day.. . I am not now able to show enthusiasm for another visit , I would have loved having that day and opportunity to empty my wallet a little and a little bit more on what would have been another visit , sorry no Eureka moment taken away that day."
