"Phoned to enquire with the chef about what was gluten free on a set menu for a special event. Phone back to book -stating gluten free. Phoned 24 hours in advance; they had no idea who we were or that we’d booked gluten free. Finally found our booking under the wrong name and added the note about dietary requirements. Well at least we thought they did. Fawlty towers has nothing on the shambles of the Brook Hotel. Arrived to the event on the night and after everyone else was served, had eaten, and cleared, my food finally arrived. I’m not even joking. I had to ask about each course and 2 out of 3 were wrong, and that’s only because the main course was naturally gluten free!! It’s a good job I didn’t eat everything they gave me as I’d be very ill as a result. The incompetent duty manager blamed everyone else despite admitting he had taken the call the day before the event checking our booking, and knew I needed gluten free, but it wasn’t on his sheet of paper so therefore not his fault. I didn’t finish my meal and we left early. We were not the first people to complain and leave early. Please be aware that the function evenings look glossy and well prepared on the surface but the food is awful and problems are rife. I would never eat here ever again. As for special dietary requirements, When I plan to eat out I often call in advance to see if they can cater for gluten free. It means on the night I can enjoy myself without having to fret or worry that I’ll be poisoned by a Food I need to avoid for medical reasons. This experience was the exact opposite despite us being proactive in our planning. I was very upset about the way I was treated. On the other hand the entertainment was fab and my only regret is that I missed the conclusion of the murder mystery as the story was fab with plenty of red herrings and interesting characters. I hope to see them again somewhere else, but never at this hotel again!"

Staff a little pushed the evening I ate but as I waited they offered me a free drink and dessert as way of compensation for the delay. The food was worth the wait

We had a bad experience at the Brook Hotel but the one thing we couldnt fault was the breakfast and dinner we had in the restraunt run by Radu. Lovely atmosphere and would recommed to family.

The restaurant is a little dark and may appear off-putting. However the menu was reasonably comprehensive, the food was good the service was very good. On the downside those people smoking just outside the door to the courtyard meant that the smell of the smoke drifted into the dining area which is not acceptable. View menu

We have been regularly hosting our Full Gospel Businessmen meetings at this hotel. Nowadays, we only have breakfast there, but for approximately £10, the value is outstanding. You can enjoy an all-you-can-eat spread of cereals, cooked dishes, toast, juices, and coffee. Additionally, we are provided with a room for our business meetings. Overall, it is a very good experience.

We decided to take advantage of the special offer and were not disappointed. The restaurant had a nice ambiance and a welcoming atmosphere, thanks to the friendly chef who prepared the meat dishes. The portions were very generous and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would not hesitate to return, especially with the offer still available.

Stayed in the hotel for the first time it was considerably cheaper than the nearby premier inn on my chosen date). As a lone traveller, working away from home, I usually eat in the hotel restaurant and to be honest I am usually disappointed!!! BUT NOT HERE. I ate in the restaurant where I was the only diner. The staff were polite and they were also waiting on in the bar area which looked busier). It was 22.95 for 2 courses and my food really was delicious. Prawn starter and then I chose the sirloin steak main £3 surcharge). Everything was lovely and hot well presented and very tasty. Definitely coming back here next month instead of the dreaded PI!! A great job thank you View menu

Ate here whilst staying at the hotel. Decided to have a burger as nothing else on the menu looked worth eating. The burger came on a very basic sesame bun which was clearly the cheapest in the shop. Burger itself was OK as were chips but the peas were overlooked and cheapest available. There was a whole tomato that looke less than appetising as well. Where the mediocrity really excelled was in the desert, sticky toffee pudding with supposedly excellent custard. What came was a plastic pot shaped pudding that was unbelievably bland with a lake of yellow sweet liquid that bore less resemblance to custard than if they had heated up piccalilli. Overall the desert was truly hideous. Never ever ag...

I typically don't enjoy dining at hotel restaurants because the food is usually overpriced and underwhelming. However, after a busy day, my companions and I were too tired to venture outside of the hotel. Despite the restaurant being quiet with only a few other diners, the waiting staff was friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the set menu was appealing. I opted for the goats cheese starter followed by the Trio of pork, both of which were simple and to my liking. I prefer dishes that are not overly complicated and this restaurant delivered. The starter and main course were both enjoyable, cooked well with real mashed potatoes and vegetables. Although my desired dessert was not availabl...
