"Sat outside rather than inside, which given the weather was a good choice...initially! If you think it 's going to rain, think carefully where you sit as the brollies don 't completely cover you if you are sitting at the edge. Anyway, the choice of starters is very good...in fact so good, both my dining colleage and I had two starters each and skipped the main. I cheesed out on the baked camembert seriously good, particularly with the garlic bread sticks. That was followed by the crab and advocado...very tasty. My dining colleague had the mackrel and mussels, which she loved. Jumping onto dessert, sticky toffee pudding went down a treat...with custard not ice cream (ice cream was listed on the menu). Call me old fashioned, but it had to be custard. A bit more custard would have gone down better, but you could tell it was made to order...complete with vanilla seeds. The Eaton Mess however, was too sweet for my dining colleague, so I thought I 'd give it a try. Too sweet for me too, and I have a sweet tooth. The atmosphere was calm, save for a little drama by another group of diners. The view was good, as it is on the [south] riverside. Would strongly consider going back again."

Love eating at Browns, the food was delicious although the parsnips and pork were a bit tough

Great service and relaxed atmosphere. Fish and chips a little disappointing but the rest of the food for the 8 of us was great and reasonable price. Good find on the waterfront

Overall an ok experience. Food is ok but a little on the bland side. Service ok but not attentive and got some orders wrong, even though he tried his best to be personal and informative.

The service was polite attentive but the waiter was a little miserable! Not a single smile! Food was ok but they’d run out of our favourite beef ale pie. Overall it’s good for the price and a lovely view of Tower Bridge with seats outside, for a fraction of the price compared to some of the other Butlers Wharf restaurants.

Browns is a real favourite of the family because it’s reliably tasty, has a really relaxed vibe yet still feels special being on the river with that view of tower bridge. So it was a natural choice to celebrate my Nanna’s birthday. Our waiter was really attentive. My only issue was that I had some shell in my lobster risotto but there’s always a risk.

Browns is usually a trusted old friend ! However this time I had a booking at 5:45 the food only arrived at 6:45 and we had to be at the theatre for 7:20. We had made the staff aware of the time pressure. Therefore rushed food. Unset client and was explained away that they had a big group in! Note to management , if you’ve got a big group in match it with extra staff across departments .

Service was horrible and slow. After waiting 20 minutes waiter came over, apologized for the wait and then proceeded to disappear. Place was almost empty and the waiters were huddled inside chatting. When we finally got our wine, mine was off so I wanted to send it back. Waiter argued that it was fine even though it smelled and tasted like vinegar. He asked if I wanted another wine and I said “No. I’d like the same wine but from a fresh bottle”. He came back and said the bartender agreed that the wine was off. No apology. Food was tasteless. View was great. We saw the tower bridge raised. I’d just go for a drink and the view if you have a lot of time on your hands.
