"We took a light lunch here. All the outside tables were occupied but it was fine sitting just inside. My wife chose a croque monsieur, which was tasty and accompanied by a salad. I was very happy with my cheese and local ham baguette, wash down with one of four offered bieres pressions. Only one uni-sex toilet is offered and this usually attracts a queue of 4 people or so. A notice on the toilet door says 'W-C En cas d'urgence gardez votre calme', which translates to: 'If you are desperate and at the end of a long queue, keep calm'. Somewhat amusing."

Very good reception, and pleasant time spent around a local beer. We highly recommend the Café des Ducs!

We ate breakfast there only because it's location along the canal. Tasty but small and expensive. They have a range of options for breakfast. View menu

Very good breakfast quality orange juice and very good chocolate bread, however servers more than unpleasant, mocks customers, from never seen

Typical French bar in exquisite location in Annecy Old Town. Several coffees (and a good few beers) over a few days, and, while a little more expensive than further afield, the staff were friendly and efficient

It is a cafe, not fine dining but for a cafe it is quite good. This became our "go to" breakfast spot during our stay in Annecy. The lovely canal view can't be beat and we managed to have the same charming waiter every time....More View menu

This coffee is very well placed, with a wonderful view of the old prison and the mountains! It serves all kinds of breakfast formulas, copyy and delicious. The service is correct, without more: too many customers, not enough staff. They do the best.

Exellent rapport qualité prix . Exelling kitchen. Nice waitress waitresses despite some guests who leave the door open in the middle of the winter and who come around when the boss asks for what to close the door .... meals are exellent and copied plates.

"We had a weird feeling about this restaurant when we were given 2 menu books WITHOUT any price at first. Turned out that their gastronomic pricing didn't match their brasserie standard at all. My friend asked a couple of questions about some dishes, the waiter...was very puzzled and passive, said a couple of times that he didn't know. After that, we were served some kind of MUSHY OLD bread before the meal. If this was a sign of welcoming from the owner, then he failed right there. In our main courses, apart from the meat and fish ingredients, each of us got half of a small potato, 1 small stick of leek, 1 lonely cauliflower, some smashed petit pois with the size of a small coffee capsule, and 1 line of smashed carrot. Looks like the quantity one would place on a plate of a gastronomic restaurant with 8 courses, except that this is NOT a gastronomic restaurant, from the plastic menu, the furniture, the old bread, the cutleries, the different menu pricing and the service which failed to describe the dishes. The worst part, was when the waiter came and asked us if everything went well, I gave him the feedback that the food was good but the veggie was way too little. He first proposed us to eat more dessert, then when I said no, he got so upset and defensive that he even pointed at the kitchen telling me that I should go to see the chef and discuss with him myself. Why bother asking your client how their meal was if you can't receive a candid feedback? Being a frequent traveller, coming from the hospitality industry, I have to say this place is to AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Unless you have too much money and eating next to a canval is way more important than being treated in a disrespectful manner, and leaving the restaurant with a happy stomach."
