"we were in a Friday night. with tesco. at the arrival one received a table in the corner in front of the other guests in the restaurant, all sitting in one area. we went in at 8 o'clock and not a single person went after us. Eating was so disappointing we went for dinge we had never tried to expect aromen and were so disappointed. it was not easy to see why it was so calm. left at 9.20 no atmosphere I really hate to write such a bad review, but there's something wrong here. I was in cafe rouge in birmingham and it was completely different."

the food was excellent. the service was pretty slow, but I think that was because it was a Sunday, they had junior inexperienced staff waiting.

Disappointed with the roast chicken I ordered skin flabby (clearly heated not roasted) and didn't taste of very much either chips top rate though!

We love the mussels at Cafe Rouge where I took my husband for his birthday lunch. They were as good as on previous occasions at Basingstoke, sadly closed. Excellent Creme Brûlée too.

We have been to this restaurant a few times now and have always found the staff to be welcoming , friendly and remembered us from our previous visits . Food was great .... soufflé to start followed by steak and chips for hubby steak and salad for me finished off with a lovely Eton mess made with ice cream sorbet rather than cream which was a refreshing end to a tasty meal all washed down with red wine and bier .... we used a groupon voucher which made it great value for great food...
