"During our first visit to Great Britain two years ago, we had breakfast at a Carluccio's and the experience was so memorable that when we returned in September, I insisted on going back. Although we tried another restaurant this time, the experience was just as fantastic. Carluccio's truly serves the best eggs Benedict I have ever tasted. I can no longer enjoy eggs Benedict in Canada because it just doesn't compare. Their beans are also delicious! The Earl Grey tea they offer is unique and unlike any others I have tried - I wish they sold it because I have not been able to find anything similar in stores. The servers are friendly and it's great to browse their selection of gifts and snacks after our meal. I recently tried their cocoa meringue and it was absolutely delightful. A meal at Carluccio's has become a staple of every trip to Britain for us."

Hooray! Hooray! At LAST! A Carluccio's in Devon! We turned the corner and found it by accident ( tucked away as it is right at the end of the restaurant

It was pouring rain when we stumbled upon the next Italian restaurant (we have a picky 7-year-old eater). Despite its somewhat upscale atmosphere, the restaurant was still accommodating to families with young children. In addition to the friendly service, the food was exceptionally tasty. View menu

Had an amazing light, but lunch at Carluccios in Princess Hay today: The food was delicious, cheap to come quickly, the staff could not have been helpful! (I changed my mind last minute, but the nice man I regret so that I forgot your name sorted everything immediately! I would definitely recommend that someone be visited again to try more!

This was a terrible experience! I had booked a table at this restaurant as a birthday treat for my husband, planning to have a lovely family meal with our sons. When we arrived, the staff were having a meeting and had no record of our reservation through the OpenTable system. This was extremely disappointing and I will never recommend this restaurant again. Lovely place, like the decorations on the shelves on the walls using colorful Panettone boxes. Great location in Exeter. Staff was nice, it was busy between Christmas and New year but our lunch was still out within 15 minutes. Have visited with my 13 month old and restaurant has high chairs available and baby change facilities at the disabled WC. Tasty food, had chicken and pesto risotto. The only thing we were disappointed with was ciabbata with garlic which was grilled /fried and soaked in oil, took one bite and left the rest.

Not to impressed to be very honest. Yes, good atmosphere, yes, friendly stuff. Food well… A bit boring the look of it and taste too. Unfortunately l’ve picked Spicy Arrabiatta which wasn’t really spicy and very basic look. Basically it was a handful of pasta in a red ish sauce. No decoration, no nothing. £14.50 worth of simple pasta. Tiny little starters more like a nibble size. Cappuccino and flat white coffe are exactly the same too. Black Americano very week. No alcohol free beer option with contemporary beer Prosecco to go with every main meal. In general nice place, but will l go again? Probably not to quick.

"Owner rude and arrogant! And you can’t trust them and they won’t make your order right by just saying too busy to make it right! I called in to make a booking but told no tables available but I could place an order for takeaway so I ordered two gluten free pizzas. I also asked what size are the gluten free pizza crust and was told 11”. I was told I would need to wait 1 hour 30 minutes and I agreed. I ordered the Gluten free 11 “ crust as advised for one Olive Tree and one Garlicky . When I arrived, I asked the person with the pizzas to confirm the gluten free pizzas. She looked a bit worried and said they were not gluten free. I asked the other girl if I would have to wait another 1.5 hrs and she said they would expedite my pizzas. The owner came over and said he had two vegan pizzas for 8:30 pm and I said that is not what I ordered. He said he was too busy to remake the pizzas. He said the girl that took the order said she didn’t remember gluten free was ordered. As a Celiac , those are the first words out of my mouth when I order any food and I also inquired the size of the gluten free crust and frequently they are pre-made and sealed and I was told they are 11”. He would not remake the pizzas as he said he has to trust his staff. So he implies the customer are lying and uses it as an excuse to not make it right. It doesn’t excuse not remaking the pizzas correctly as ordered gluten free as I was told a few minutes earlier. I assured him I ordered both pizzas gluten free and my wife came in and also confirmed as she heard me place the order on the phone. I realize this pizza must be well done and popular but not to remake the pizzas and imply me a liar and refusing to remake them is unprofessional. I find his behavior arrogant, rude and unprofessional and just because he went to Italy to learn how to make pizza doesn’t make him a good owner and manager. Hopefully, he won’t blow off this review but learn from it. Always make it right for your customers! And never insult your customers! It also suggest he doesn’t care about his customers because he is too busy. He walks away and just repeats he has to trust his employees. Poor excuse for not making the pizzas as ordered! Employees can make mistakes and as a Coeliac I will also double check as I did when I came to pick up the pizzas. I would advise Coeliacs to not try these pizzas as you can’t trust them to make them to your order. Peace be with you! Dietary restrictions You cannot trust this place to make your gluten free as ordered and they won’t remake it if they made it wrong and just say I have to trust my staff. Very Poor attitude from an owner and a bit arrogant! Customers don’t appear to be important and must be lying if they get an order wrong."
