The service is quite mad. We were served by at least three different people and the waiter(s) got several of our orders wrong. Which is a shame because the food is nice.

Our reservation was not found when we arrived at the restaurant. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately they brought us the wrong order, causing a long wait. Additionally, they brought us a duplicate dish after we had already finished our meal. The service was disorganized. The food was good, but it's understandable why the restaurant was not busy. I would not recommend this place.

Our table was not reserved so we had to wait for our table to be made up. Due to another function ongoing elsewhere in the premises we had a long wait for our main course, approx 1 hour and 15 mins after starter. By this time our wine had been consumed. Perfect service. Great food. Wonderful people. Meticulous presentation. They awed me with how they executed my special request. Will recommend and will be back even if it’s for a burger as I’m sure they will turn it into a piece of art. The lamb shank and the chicken were both out of this world—both very tender, juicy, and just to-die-for. After having my favorite restaurants all in North America for a decade and a half, now this restaurant in the City of Love has me won over.

I had mixed feelings about this restaurant. The atmosphere and interior design were lovely. However, the staff did not have our booking and seemed annoyed to find a table for us. Despite it being a Saturday night, the venue was only half full. We were told to wait at the bar, which seemed to never be serviced. Eventually, a staff member was surprised and unsure when we ordered drinks from the bar. Once we were seated, the service was good. The starters were exceptional, but the mains were a bit disappointing. It was not clear that the steaks came with no accompaniments besides onions, which was disappointing. After reading numerous reviews on TripAdvisor, I made a reservation for dinner at Chez Mal, even though we were staying at Dakota. Upon arrival, our reservation was not found, but luckily there were available tables. There were issues with gas for the draught drinks and stock problems with bottled beer, so I had to settle for my third choice of drink. To make matters worse, my first choice for food was also unavailable. The waiter served our food with disdain and ignorance, which only made the situation worse.
