"Slow, surly service, complacent, unapologetic management. On its website Cigala describes itself as a place that “hums with professional excellence”. On our visit, for a mid week lunch, nothing could have been further from the truth. We opted for the reasonably priced lunch set menu containing a meat, fish and vegetarian option for main course. All our party of four favoured the fish option but we were told that only one portion was left. This was at in a half empty restaurant. The management could have easily substituted another fish option from the a la carte menu but made no attempt to do so After ordering promptly we sat back and waited, .....and waited. very good price. it felt very authentic Spanish cuisine, especially its selection of tapas. in any case a place to go back with a group of friends.

The baby squid is so fresh that there are traces of squid ink left behind. I love the crunchiness and it’s not over salted. Definitely a good start for the meal.

good eating, atmosphere was slightly cold, but had an amazing priority wine. try the gambas, as well as the really tasteful auber-gine dish. would recommend this place.

directly at the russell square stall, it awaits this charming iberian restaurant on the corner lamb’s conduct and rugby streets with great southern paella for diners as well as tapas for nibbler with a great wine list.

Cigala is a trendy tapas restaurant with a great wine list. Let me say, we loved our carafe nothing house wine-y about that! The meal was a slightly different tale. It was perfectly acceptable and it is true to say we left merry and full but there was something amiss.

Nice food. A food meal from one of the guys who worked at Moro, which was why I tried it. Good selection of Tapas, while good can work out expensive quite quickly. Made a bad choice with the wine (their house red from memory) and the Paella was rather disappointing However, I will go back

This was a very disappointing meal only booked as in London on a Sunday and used top table to find place had no atmosphere, miserable staff and was quite pricey for what it was- a real shame as it looks the part and with some better service and perhaps a bit of music could be quite nice. The food wasn't bad but very salty

Sludgy grey mass. I ate at Cigala last night and had the worst meal have ever had in a restaurant. I was there early and suspect all the tapas were left overs: cold and stale meatballs, bacala hard and overlooked, tortilla a horrid grey sludgy mass. The service was terrible, rude and off hand: the food arrived in wrong order, tepid meatballs before salted almonds, wine so slow had eaten half. We could not finish the meal but left and went to have a lovely plate of pasta at Strada to take the taste away, first time have ever bought two dinners.

restaurant cigala spanish bloomsbury date of visit: time: review: I have never tried Spanish cuisine before, so I was looking forward to visiting cigala. the idea, authentic Spanish cuisine and tapas sounded perfect. I love eating so that I can be able to taste several dishes like the sky for me I arrived with the taxi and since cigala is in bloomsbury, it was just a short trip from my regent street office. my friend arrived with public transport. the restaurant is located near holborn and russell square tube stations, so it is a simple place to get to the entrance of cigala, at the corner...read more
