"We called ahead to make a reservation but were told that the restaurant was fully booked until later in the evening. Despite arriving late, they were able to accommodate us. We were unable to place our order right away, but we were grateful that they were willing to seat us. The pub itself is charming and peaceful, with a fantastic atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was exceptional. My father loved the Seabass, saying it was the best he's ever had. My mother enjoyed the crab, and my child devoured the homemade chicken goujons. I opted for the fillet steak, which was cooked perfectly. All the portions were generous, and the chips were delicious. This is a wonderful country pub and restaurant that I would frequent regularly if I lived nearby. I highly recommend it, but do make sure to book ahead."

Wow what a wonderful open evening. The samples of food where absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was electrifying and enjoyed by all. We have eaten at the Crown many times before lock down, but now I intend to eat my way through the new menu. Thank you Martin and your fantastic team for all your efforts. All Good Wishes. Lovely little characterful country pub with ample beer garden and friendly staff. However a word of warning for those wanting food on 2nd Wednesday of the month. Although the kitchen is normally open 6pm-8pm it is closed on this day due to a quiz that starts at 8pm and tables are fully booked for that. Crisps and nuts are available. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 View menu

The only positive aspect of this restaurant was that the food actually made it to the table. Unfortunately, the dishes were cold and undercooked. Before placing our order, we specifically asked if the beef would be pink and were assured it wouldn’t be, yet it came out quite pink! Additionally, it was cold, extremely tough to cut, and very chewy—so much so that it ended up stuck in our teeth after all the chewing. If you happen to use Fixodent, I might recommend giving it a try. The average cost per person is £20–30.

We called to make a reservation but were informed that the restaurant was fully booked until later in the evening. When we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful and idyllic pub setting with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was excellent - my dad said the seabass was the best he ever had, my mom enjoyed the tasty crab, my child loved the homemade goujons, and I found my filet steak cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, especially the chips. Overall, this is a perfect pub and restaurant and I would become a regular if I lived nearby. I highly recommend it, just make sure to book ahead.

"My mate and I met at the pub for a quiet lunchtime beer and chat..it was great to see him as we had not seen each other for years and need to catch up on news... All we got was pressure and hassle from the...staff. We had our beers..two minutes later one staff member arrived asking if we needed more drinks??..No thank you...Two minutes later another staff member arrived..You gents ok??..Can I get you more drinks??....Our beer was barely touched..No thank you we are fine.. Two minutes later another staff member arrived ...Can I get you more drinks?? Then a young man arrived..Are you gents dining with us??.. we had not planned to eat, just have a beer .. Do you have sandwiches??...No we don't was the answer. Five minutes later another question if we had ordered food??.. Different staff member arrived time after time, every few minutes to ask if we needed more drinks or if we were ordering food... We ordered food we didn't want...It was nothing special..Usual pub food that is quickly forgettable..Not great food..mediocre. Only then did the hassle stop and we were left alone to have a chat. I know there is not much profit in beer...Pubs make their money on food. But the restaurant area was not busy...We were not sat in the restaurant dining area..The table was not made up with cutlery ready for diners..No further customers were sat in our area...The table was NOT required for diners. IT IS A PUB!!...People to go pubs to drink beer and spirits, read a book, chat to other folk, play cards, read a newspaper...It a place of social gathering. All we got was hassle and pressure. I do not often write reviews..Far less write a poor report..I much prefer to give praise and say things were excellent. We shall NOT return.. Incidentally, I do know and like good food..The previous evening I dined in a pub where the chef was a past winner of the TV programme MasterChef ...However, this pub food was mediocre..."
